Ok ladies, how is it going for you all?
My mom ordered a bunch of Nutrasystem for herself and daddy. Well, daddy didn't like it so she gave a bunch to me. I just eat it for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I eat with the fam for dinner. I like the high protein content of the food and it doesn't taste too shabby. So far I only had one "ok that was gross" food. I do like that I can eat normal food in addition to what they provide.
Anyway, I dropped 2 lbs in the past 3 days. I know it will slow down. But I will stick with it until I run out and then evaluate what to do next.

'been on it for 2 wks and have lost 1 pound. The tuna casserole was not fit for a wild dog.

Unfortunatly on a fixed income I can't afford the Nutra-system food. I do need to lose weight though.

Hi, I have tried many, many weight loss plans and the best plan I've found is that you have to walk. Walking is the key to weight loss. But you have to walk a little faster than usual and you have to walk at least 4 miles each night, whether on a treadmill or outside. On top of this, you have to cut down on what you eat. It's the old rule and it works!!!
You don't have to starve yourself. Avoid the hi fat foods like pastas and breads for a time. IF you want one slice of bread (toast) with butter, that's ok. You'll still lose weight. IF you wish to snack, snack on lettuce and fresh fruits and carrots .....(NO RANCH DRESSING) ...those dressings are the worst....you gain so fast with just a little of that stuff! Avoid them!
Fill up on cabbage and salads with very little oil and vinegar. I know it's a pain but this OLD WAYS are the best ways. Canned soups are loaded with sodium ....which stops weight loss. Medication can slow weight loss too by the way.
Drink lots of water before you eat. And here's a little secret that really works great! FLAX FIBER......get it and put it on your salads.....and in your oatmeal and/or cereal......make sure you have that Fiber at least once a day. If it's not working then make sure you eat it twice a day. But it will keep you regular with the walking and the water and you'll lose weight I promise you!
Avoid corn and potatoes ...at least for the first two weeks. If you want to eat potatoes again......don't load them up with FAT. You can eat them with a little bit o fat not much. But again, the Fiber will help you lose and make you healthier to boot.
Just burn more calories than you eat........that's the biggest secret of all. The OLD WAY WORKS!
Hope this helps you all. Also, take your vitamins....it raises your metabolism when you take vitamins. Pro Biotics keeps the bad bacteria at bay..you have to take pro biotics every day. Bad bacteria will keep you SLUGGISH and you won't want to walk.....you'll be too tired.
The B Complex in multi vitamins will give you the energy to work out.
You can get B12 sublinguals ......put them under your tongue during the day.....you can't over do that.......and it will give you energy! Trust me, I'm 59 years old. I'm thin and it works for me. If I can do this, you can do this.
Try it........it works!
One more tip......NEVER Eat anything FAT with SUGAR. That's dooming your hopes for any weight loss. So if you have fat that day....avoid sugar......INCLUDING SUGARY DRINKS that entire day. If you have a sugar....avoid all FATS THAT DAY. IF you eat peanuts one day..THAT"S YOUR PROTEIN FOR THAT DAY. Because they are so high in calories.
IF you've eaten too much one day (and we all do).....take CLA (vitamin) (it will help burn the fat you ate) and next day, drink mostly fresh vegetable and fruit juice, from your juicing machine. Try to only do that all day. It's healthy, will cleanse your system from toxins that you jammed in your gut the day before and it will aid you in raising your metabolism.
Green tea is excellent for health and raising the metabolism too.
Anyway, got to get to work........hope these tips help. ;)

I lost 12 lbs. this summer just by walking and watching my calorie intake. Unfortunately now that it get's dark earlier, and dh has been getting home later, I havent been able to walk. :cry So the lbs. are creeping back on. :rant I don't have the room or the money for a treadmill. When I was walking every day I wore 2# ankle weights so this week I started wearing them around the house. I am hoping that this will help burn a little more, especially considering how many times I run up and down the stairs. :heh

I have lost about 50 lbs in 2 years and kept it off just by eating right and walking. :yeah

i started doing south beach 6 months ago and i have lost 26 lbs. it sounds so slow when i write it out like that but they say slow is better and more likely it wont come back. i want to lose at least another 13 but 23 would be fantastic!!
