Need recipe for tonight...thanks!

Does anyone know of a good homemade french frie recipe....the kind where you heat the oil on the stove and make it that way....
This is how I did it last time.....
I heated some oil on the stove and I first boiled the fries for about 5 min...then I patted them dry...I waited for the oil to heat up and then I put them in there for 15 min.... they turned out good....but couldn't I just soak them in water in the fridge for a while instead of boiling them in water?

To make crispy fries you are suppose to soak them in ice water first anyway. I dont precook mine, I never thought about it to be truthful, I cut them up, soak in icewater for 15 -20 minutes and then I drain them pat them dry, and pop them into the hot oil until they are brown. salt them and eat, But then again I never worried about making good fries,lol lol I like all things fried!!!! You might want to just want to buy the frozen ones, they are easiest and the ones called ... fast food fries come out pretty good,
Who is yelling about your cooking ?? geesh do the best you can, if they can do better then they can cook!! My X made the mistake of complaining about his dinner once, he just kept on and on and on, made me so mad, I never said a word. but I did get up and take his plate and dumped it into the garbage disposal. End of argument. I mean it is not something that should make you feel like a worm, he could have told me he did not care for it, I would have gladly then fixed him something else.

My fries where good last time...I just wanted to know if there was a better/easier way to do them.....thanks again!! I don't want to boil them first....so I will try your way....:hug

My kids like them soft. When my daughter was about 8 or 9, she even wrote a poem, that she turned in to her teacher, about how her favorite food in the whole wide world was mommy's greasy fries! :bricks Talk about embarrasing! But they still love those limp, greasy fries!

paula deen did fries once and she had some kind of batter on them that kept them crispy i dont remember which show and i didn't write the recipe down but they looked real good
