Okay this has me bugged, May they be blotted out of the book of life. Blotted??? as in REMOVED ? As in the Lord has an eraser and you can be removed form the book of life? I thought that when you gave yourself to Christ, That NOTHING could remove you !! " I will never leave you or forsake you," That is a PROMISE and God can not and does not lie. Soo what is up with the blotting? I KNOW I am sealed with him forever, but for some reason this has me bugged and I can't stop thinking about it!!!:scratch

Speaking of the lost and their final decision in rejecting Jesus.

Maybe God only has one book. The 'book of life' and He started out with everone's name written in it because He desires everyone to be saved. As we reject Him we have our names scratched out.
Like an Invitation list to a party. As you get you RSVP you tick off the ones coming and scratch out the ones who said NO.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Rev 20.12

This may be stretching it a bit but is interesting:
God's 7 Books of Judgment (http://www.biblebell.org/proph/degrees.html)
1. The Book of Conscience
"but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat...'' Gen 2.17a
2. The Book of Knowledge
Luke 12.47-48 makes it clear that God's judgment shall give due consideration to the amount of knowledge that the unbeliever had concerning God's will.
3. The Book of the Law
...as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law Rom 2.12b
For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2.10
4. The Book of Words
(Jesus said...) "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." Mt 12.36-37
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. James 3.9-10
(Jesus said...) ..."whoever says, `You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire." Mt 5.22c
Every word a person speaks is recorded in heaven.
There are people who have never physically beaten anyone, or murdered anyone. Yet they have committed horrible abuses with their words.
If you call someone stupid, or tell someone that he or she is useless or no good, you are committing an act of vicious brutality upon that person's basic humanity.
If you gossip, you are committing character assassination. Character assassination is an act of murder.
As is proved by Matthew 5.22c, God looks upon the brutality of hateful words as a heinous sin.
At the judgment, an unbeliever will be held accountable for every careless, hurtful word that he or she has ever uttered.
5. The Book of Secrets
in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel. Rom 2.16
For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil. Eccl 12.14
You (God) have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. Ps 90.8
"Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?'' says the Lord; "do I not fill heaven and earth?'' says the Lord. Jer 23.24
6. The Book of Works
And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Rev 20.12b
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Mt 16.27
7. The Lamb's Book of Life
But there shall by no means enter it (heaven) anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Rev 21.27
It is the Lamb's book of life, wherein is recorded the name of each and every person who has received Jesus Christ as Savior.
* Those whose names are listed in the book of life, have received God's GRACE. They will go to heaven based on the works of Jesus Christ.
* Those whose names are not listed in the Lamb's book will instead receive God's JUSTICE. They will go to hell based on their OWN works.
If you are an unbeliever, the choice of destination -- heaven or hell -- is YOURS ALONE.
To have your name written in the Lamb's book today -- right this very instant -- believe on the Lord Jesus and be saved!! (Romans 10.9-10)

:thinking Thank you ! I read the other post also, read the bible some more and re read the post, I never heard about the 7 books ! I also thought that when you gave yourself to Christ, THEN your name was recorded in the book of life. I had never thought about from the perspective of everyone's name being recorded, then blotted out if they rejected Christ, He must spend alot of time erasing !!!

I think I agree with this view for the most part.
I would add that the Lambs book of Life is a different book that was completed from the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8).
And as such I have a question that crossed my mind, which I am sure others have asked on this topic:
Are there some who, at the great white throne judgement, are still written in the book of life??
Is there a possible reprieve for some? For instance, them that weren't believers (not in the lambs book of life), but didn't really do anything worthy of being blotted from the book of life.
In this passage....
Psa 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psa 139:15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Psa 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all (my members) were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when (as yet there was) none of them.
....the words in brackets are added italics in the KJV (for readability). Usually I would agree with the interpretations brought to the text by those words, but here they could be in error.
In the following verse there is a good argument that vs 28 refers to two different operations of God, and not a single stroke of His pen (so to speak).
Psa 69:27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
Psa 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
The "and not" above is also translated "nor" which could refer to a person being blotted out of one book, and additionally never being written with the righteous (which is an obvious reference to what we now know to be the Lambs book of life).
This could possibly indicate that some who are not blotted out from the book of life, yet are not written in the Lambs book of life, could get a reprieve from hell after the MK.
Interesting.....I am not sure I'd really teach this, I am just wondering if perhaps someone can quote scripture to slam it down for me? :candle
