I purchased a packaged curriculum for DD for next year as it will be our first year and I'm not ready to just wing it on my own yet. I got her My Father's World Kinder.
I did some research and read reviews and opinions and decided on this one. Anyone else used it for their DC? Did you have to supplement with anything? Do you think I should purchase a seperate math curriculum? What are/were your experiences with this curriculum?

Hello Emmie. I have never used it, so I won't be much help, but I did find this. They also have reviews for lots of other curriculum in case there is something you're interested in, but want to get others opinions.

Thanks NWO! I read through the reviews and all but one were positive and reminded me of why I chose this curriculum in the first place. But now I am also thinking that it might not be challenging enough for DD. Hmmmm...

You could go ahead and use it. Don't write in it, make copies of what you need, or have her write her answers on notebook paper. If after a few lessons, you decide you don't like it, then move on to something else. :hat

I used it for Kinder for my first one. It looked great when I bought it. But, the directions were all very confusing so I ended up just putting together my own work with what they gave me.
I didn't supplement with math and my daughter was way behind when I started her on math in 1st grade. She's in 4th now, and is finally getting where I feel she's caught up. With my second daughter I supplemented with math and that made a world of difference for her in first grade. If you use it, definitely supplement math.
It has a lot of fun activities I did with my first daughter and she was so young she doesn't remember having done any of them. :idunno

I'm using MFWK with my dd and I LOVE it. I think it's an awesome program and I fully anticipate using it throughout her education. It is light and easy, in that it's very simple for me as the teacher to go through the concepts. My dd can get the point of what we're going over, without me pounding it into her head. The bible is a crucial part of the program and everything relates back to God. Even though it is an easy program, it still contains all the information she needs to know for kindergarten and a whole lot more. MFW doesn't require her to sit still for hours. School on most days takes about 1.5 hours.
I've supplemented two things to our program - I added an art program at my dd request and a Kumon number games workbook to add some extra math.
I've never even been a SAHM before this school year and now we homeschool. I love it and could not do it without MFW. My dd and I knock heads many days and I strongly feel that without this program my child would be back in ps.
