I may take my kids out around the neighborhood, and then to a church for their festival. I semi-dabbled in the occult in high school.

No matter how much I see it, it never ceases to amaze me how many christians say halloween is ok. And even some on this thread kind pushing the envelope by making it known they will rent a movie to watch that night. I pray for the eyes to be opened and a teachable spirit for those that think halloween is ok.And to celebrate or to not celebrate halloween is not one person's conviction, it is a direct command from the Lord God to shun the very appearance of evil. And halloween is evil, no matter how you look at it.

So it's a sin to rent a movie on Halloween?

eh if i had kids, the only thing they could do that night related to those events is head to the Church's social thingy. That's about the only thing I've done on that night in like over 20 years. Basically it's just a small parking lot carnival that has none of the imagery associated with the occult. It's more meant to be an outreach. I haven't even done that in years though, I'm usually hunched over my keyboard working on programming/3D modelling projects that night... like most every night. But I remember last year and the year before and that was exactly what I was doing those nights. It's probably the only night of the year I DON'T want to dress up as a pirate :lol2

If we keep it fun.

Kids, candy, and some spooky stuff(not gore-not satanic) just spooky.
sorry, but I think its up to us parents to keep it in a fun context.

It will be as evil as you make it.

and free candy for goodness sake.

Maybe Im wrong. but im not going to deny my kid a fun time on this night, alot of good memories for me, im trying to let my kids have some too.
