just a quick question to anyone who may know how to fix the following problem:

when i go online my homepage has been taken over by a security software page saying that i have a virus and that all of my passwords are vulnerable. it says that i have to download this software to be protected--any ideas?

thanks.

You've probably just gone to a website that changed your homepage without your knowledge. It's possible you may have a bug of some sorts. do you have anti-virus software? have you tried changing the homepage back to what it was?

Install AVG anti virus and Spybot Search and Destroy for spy programs like the one that has probably hijacked your comp and changed your home page. These are both freeware and quite good!

If your virus protection was not up to date, you have a virus. Don't load the one that site recomands, it can give you more trouble. Try to remove it yourself, if you can't my advise it take it to a tech. to work on.

This what I use..... http://spywarebot.com/?hop=congoman&gclid=CJH4namOxI8CFSQYZAodnFYpXg and it's free do the updates then install the updates..then search for problems

Thanks for these recommendations. My CA internet suite subscription expired a month ago and I didn't feel like paying to renew it. So I dowloaded these last night! :thumb

Free is great!

Install a virus protector so your webpage wont be taking over by the virus

Switch to a Mac.
Don't you have to have an art degree to use a Mac?

Switch to Linux. Unix is for real computer users.
