Need good info on Mormonism

My daughter is asking about different beliefs (catholics, etc. not like hindus, but ones that may have similar beliefs) and if they are going to heaven. Here's the latest setting:

My church just finished up Judgement House (169 new salvations and 180+ rededications!!! :yeah ) And one girl we prayed for specificly was a mormon. They had anyone saved or rededicating their life sign a large piece of paper and on sunday it was up front for everyone to read over. Well, my oldest DD (11 yrs old) went up with me and we noted that the girl they were praying for got saved! She had noted below her name that she had been mormon. My DD recognized the name has the sister of one of her friends!

So of course now she is concerned about her friend's salvation and is asking me about how the mormon beliefs differ from ours and I truly don't have any good answers. I know they have the book of mormon, but that's about it.

:twitch:shocked Oh my gosh! I cannot believe how out there some of the teachings are! Very distrubing, very very distrubing. Whatever happened to the warning at the end of Revalations about adding to the Bible??? :scratch It's so sad to think about those who are following this teaching truly thinking they are going to heaven. :ohno

they also believe after the first anniversary of a loved one, who was not Mormon... a living member can go to the altar and accept Jesus for that loved one who passed away. I know this cause I have a sister who is a member (non active) in the Mormon church. I told her she will not be going forward for our grandparents as she wanted to do. I show her in scripture where we as individual have to confess with our own tongue ... she didn't go forward.. PTL
