I am having a really hard time giving my toddler his medicine for his ear infection....he doesn't want to eat anyways....so I can't hide it in his food....he can taste it when I put it in his drink....I am having to force it down his throat...but he can spit it back up sometimes....but I found that if I put it in the back of his throat and keep the syringe in his mouth and blow on his face...he will swallow...but I read somewhere not to force medicine down toddlers throat because they could choke?? .....so what do I do now?? he just doesn't want to eat....I can't even give him tylonal...

chewables?

suppositories?

Is there another flavor he might like? The pharmacies can change flavors.

and yes, call the Doc.:thumb

Can you bribe him with Nerds or something inbetween sips?

I used to pin them down on the sofa or the floor and insert the syringe between cheek and teeth all the way back and then blow in their face.

This way they could not spit it out. Thankfully, 20 yrs later, they all lived through the trials and tribulations of those times!

I hope your toddler is better right now!

That's kinda what I do when I cannot get them to take there medecine at all. You just do it real quick, it's over before you know it.

Unfortunaltely, I've had to hold all three of my kids down to take their meds. Now that they are older, it's easier. I never had any choking episodes with them though.
