We are close to that point today.

We are so inundated with death in the media many have been (at least) desensitized.

Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

True, but it seems that wealth will be valued more than human life.

very difficult days...

I must admit when I watch the news or hear about a death it doesn't affect me. I believe just growing up around it you do become desensitized. I have become that way. Their are days when I just can't take it anylonger I burst out crying but not usually over a death. It may hit me after awhile but does that make me careless?

Chapter 18 concerns the destruction of political Babylon where Chpt 17 concerns religious Babylon.

So I can see as you posted "Rev 18" why this would be so <><

People are getting to where their comfort is becoming more important to them than life itself. And it is fast getting worse.

People will run over you with their cars, run you over with their shopping carts, and cut in front of you in their frenzied rush to get back home to their comfortable life even though there's no fire.

In the last moments of earth people will be very much wrapped up in themselves to the point of giving gifts (like Christmas) to each other in celebration of killing the two witnesses.

I believe, however, that this is why those locusts are going to be released: they will not allow anyone to be comfortable for 5 months straight; it will actually drive them to desire death.
