I'm an old Marvel Comics reader from the 60s when I was a youngun.

It's really kinda fun to see them make movies of this stuff because I remember the concepts so well.

Anyway, I have to go see all this stuff because I'm a sci-fi addict.

The Iron Man series is unique in that this guy supposedly discovered an iron material that was flexible. Now, how well they portray the comic book concept is an altogether different thing since the application of it is essentially from the mind of the director. So there are variables to the original.

Anyway, I'll be at the theatre. (after the rush)

I cannot WAIT!!!!!!

I'm a die-hard (early sixties) Spidey fan. Has anyone read the Civil War series? Thought Stark was fascinating in Parker's life during the arc.

WHERE were you when I needed you in Anything Goes during my Spidey thread? :sob

I'm old. Was reading FF and Spidey in the sixties in first run. Liked them better then, too.

Anyone else despise J. Michael Strazynski's Marvel work as much as I do?

Ahhhhh, don't tell me I've killed the thread!

Honestly, with any movie made from a popular book or comic book, the movies are never going to hold up well. I find holes in all of the movies and have a grievance with the personna they attach to the characters, but I try to overlook it so I can enjoy a movie.

In FF, they did Reed Richards wrong. He wasn't timid or milque-toast like they made him. Sue Storm was a blond with a whole different personna than with Alba. The guy that did Johnny was good, but Johnny wasn't that cocky. Surfer had alot more zip and flair than the one they characterized.

Oh well, scripts and directors certainly have their shortcomings as we can see. So I expect that Iron Man will have a totally different edge as well.

I really didn't like the Spider Man movies because I don't think Maguire fits the bill (and the web was manufactured, not bio).
I didn't think that Christian Bale fit the batman thing, either, even though the movie had a really good batmobile.:heh

Nevertheless, I have top see em all.
