I was wondering if it would be possible to do an actual book study here. Not just a verse study, or a topic study, but a book study. I don't know if that's been done before, but if it hasn't could we try one. I was thinking Romans or one of the Gospels. Does anyone here know how to put one of together. Buzzard or Roadrunner, ya'll are good at that sort of thing. :)

Just asking. :hat

It would be great.. I would be willing to come to it... as long as denominational doctrines remain at the front steps.

Ummm, I don't know. I just wanted to make the suggestion. Maybe, for those who would like to do it, we could all put in which book we would like to do then vote on it. Be democratic about it. :lol2

Miss Molly, CelticMist, what would ya'll be interested in doing?

Well, the Gospel of John is one of the first books that is suggested to read when one becames new in Christ. Want to start there? or Do you want to get right to the deep meat of the Word and do one on the latter days?

It has been tried and is extremely difficult ... given the medium. It really has to be broken down into small digestive pieces. Perhaps pieces quite a bit smaller than even chapter by chapter ...

The larger it is he more difficult it is to "control".

The forum is very good at banter over very small points actually ... very very small ... so small that it is possible to swallow those "knowledgeable" and those who have nothing but "opinion" to add in one bite ... and allow them to have an equal say ... and then move on.

Ever wonder why there aren't a whole bunch of those who are actually called to the ministry and make their living at it (such as a preacher or two) do not flock to a forum such as this? Or if they do drop in ... that it is at the fringes... ?

It is because the medium of the forum isn't really "edifying" ... often it turns into some kind of a "debate" which is actually called out in Scripture as a venue to avoid. :panic

Think you are right... as much as I think it would be great to have one... it would probably lead to debates. Too bad we all tend to do that!!!
