For the past 2 Sunday evenings I've happened upon this dude on local TV.
Is he for real? He comes across as a sheep - one can almost feel sorry for him........ he talks all nicely and quietly as if butter won't melt in his mouth........
But then he turns into a wolf when he screams "heel!" "heel!" or is it "heal!" "heal!" ???? (I'm still trying to figure out whether he is screaming at people telling them to bow to him (heel) or him wanting actual "heal" people. Then he points his finger towards the camera and says, "You, you and you!" - aargh! By the looks of things he's got one mother of a church with his name scrawled all over it. *Barf* And he stands there in his 3-piece suit and tie and looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.
Oh well - just another false prophet I guess - only difference is he doesn't scream, hop around on stage, and make his attitude or words (wolf) as prominent as the rest do. The only time they really show an ounce of humility is when they want da money, honey.
Yep, the Bible states in Matthew 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, "I am Christ"; and shall deceive many.
Please note : Since there are no quotation marks in the original Greek text of this scripture, it is correctly interpreted as direct speech which correctly translates to:
For many will come in my name,
saying (that) I am the Christ, and will mislead many.
meaning:
For many will come in my name,
(even) saying (that) I (Jesus) am the Christ,
and (going on from there) will mislead many.
The reasoning being, false teachers and prophets seem to be orthodox because they admit openly that Jesus is the Christ, but then go on to deceive many with their teachings.
And the word "many" translated from the Greek = the majority.
A good reason to read one's Bible AND understand it, so as not to have the wool pulled over one's eyes, no matter what any preacher tells you. :)
