Hi All,

I can't believe that next Thursday is Thanksgiving and that 33 days later it will be Christmas! I am looking around, there are only a few Thanksgiving decorations for sale at the grocery store, none decorating the store itself. Come to think about it, I didn't even see any turkeys for sale. Furthermore, I don't see any decorations out anywhere- at the stores, post office, homes etc. Is it like that where you live? Is this typical? Growing up this time of year was so eagerly awaited - celebrations at home and church, teas, family gatherings, local events, parties, even Thanksgiving television specials, so many wonderful events to look forward to. It does not seem to be that way anymore - at least around here. Please tell me it is different where you are.

In any case, I intend to have a wonderful time, hope your Thanksgiving is blessed and heartwarming as well.

All the stores here are decorated for Christmas. I order my turkey every year and this year I had to ask because there is usually a big poster, but this year it was a little sign and I missed it. All the "fall" decorations went on sale Nov 1st for 70% off

I did see some Thanksgiving decorations in stores to buy, but a very small selection compared to the Christmas decor for sale. Turkey's are on sale too along with hams. At one of the stores I shop at they do turkey points -- for every $25 dollars you spend they give you a turkey point (some days are double turkey point days, they give 2 points for every $25 spent) After you saved so many turkey points you can cash in and get a free turkey. The bigger the turkey the more points required. That's kinda of fun!

What amazes me is how fast time is moving. How is it possible that next week is Thanksgiving? It seems like it was just Halloween a week ago.

It's so sad. I love Thanksgiving. They are already playing Christmas music on the radio and in the stores.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Just fun to cook all that food and sit around with family and eat and eat and eat! No pressure like Christmas.

I hate the way the stores skip Thanksgiving. It's Halloween and then striaght to Christmas.

My next door neighbors already have their Christmas decorations up. They took down their Halloween lights:doh and immediately put up the Christmas lights. :rolleyes They even have their tree up; I can see it in the window. :faint
