Tomorrow night, 4 of my grandkids will be spending the night. I'll already have the 3 year old when it's time for the other 3 to get out of school, so I'll be picking them up at school. I don't want to have a lot of fuss and mess at supper time so I'm going to use my crockpot. I have a roast. I'll brown and season it in the morning and put it in the pot with 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, potatoes and carrots. They all love cucumbers so I'll also slice a couple in the morning and refrigerate them. I'll open some fruit at supper time, bake a couple cans of crescent rolls and pour them each a glass of milk. This was standard fare when my kids were growing up and they always loved it. Later in the evening, I'll make popcorn and we'll have a movie night.

I think it was is so the chocolate won't melt as easy in your hands :idunno. I'm not really sure and I could never find that exact thing in the store so I never used it.

It also helps the chocolate to set up faster and keeps the chocolate from getting so soft at room temperature. You can find it in the canning section used for jams & jellies. But I never put that much in and I buy the large Hershey bars or bulk milk chocolate. This is the recipe I have made every Christmas for probably over 30 years:
12 oz peanut butter (either crunchy or smooth)
1# bag plus 1 cup powdered sugar
2 sticks butter or margarine
Mix until smooth and somewhat crumbly like a pie crust dough. Roll into balls & chill on wax paper lined cookie sheets for a couple hours. Dip in melted chocolate and place on wax paper lined cookie sheets til chocolate sets. They freeze well also. Chocolate:
Melt 2 lg Hershey bars with about 1/3 stick paraffin in double boiler. Do not allow steam or moisture to get into chocolate.
THIS is so good too: WHITE CHRISTMAS MIX
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Corn Chex
3 Cups Cheerios
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups peanuts
1 large bag M&M - any kind or mixed
pour into large bowl. Melt 1# white chocolate (you can use bark) and mix gently with a rubber spatula to coat. Spread out on waxed paper to set.
You can't stop eating this stuff!

I just made up this for the first time tonight and it came out wonderful. Best soup I've made yet. I tend not to use recipes when I make soups and come up with my own combinations, and this is no different. This is what I used, but of course you could make your own adjustments.
1 Tbs. olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 large onion, chopped in bite size pieces or smaller
1 green bell pepper, chopped in bite size pieces or smaller
1 zuccini, sliced
1 yellow squash, sliced
1 package cheese tortillini
2 cans condensed tomato soup
2 cans water
1 Tbs. Italian seasoning
Saute garlic and onion in olive oil for 3-5 mins. Add green pepper and saute for another 2 minutes. Add zuccini and squash and saute for another minute. Add condensed tomato soup, water, tortillini and Italian seasoning (preferrably in that order). Heat on medium high heat until tortillini and veggies are cooked to desired tenderness.

Here is a recipe my mama used to make (before she went to be with the Lord) and everyone who tried it loved it! Some of you all may already know this one. Great for parties or just a family snack...
Sausage in biscuits
roll sausage into small balls (about the size of a nickel or quarter), cook in skillet over med med heat until done- drain on paper towel and set aside.
take canned biscuits and pinch off enough to cover each ball. (you can roll the biscuits out first, but just pinching off enough is a bit faster I think)
When all sausage balls are covered, melt about 1/3 stick of margarine and brush over all--bake in oven on about 350 until tops are golden brown. Watch closely! They brown quickly!
These are so good and go quick!
