Are you serious? I've NEVER had a problem with it. I'd download and install it again....I'd be MUCH more inclined to believe that it was either
a) a bad download, or
b) something wrong with your Mac that was interfering with Adium. I've run it for going on 2 years now, with no problems.

I installed it, uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. It crashes within 10 seconds of launching every single time. :tsk I'll have hubby look at my configuration. I downloaded it from the site initially, then I went through versiontracker... which sends you back to the Adium site anyway, and downloaded it again. Weird.

Wierd. I just DL it the other day. No problems.
Do you have Yahoo or AOL running on another computer?
I noticed that it would kick me off if I had my Yahoo or AOL running in my room.
I have Adium on my wireless

I'm wondering if it doesn't like that I have yahoo, AOL, and MSN installed on my machine at all. I don't have any of those running anywhere when trying to open Adium.

As someone who has worked on Windows (95/98/2K/ME/XP/Vista) for going on 12 or 13 years now, all I can say to that is :rofl
This probably makes ONE time that she's had a problem with something on OS X.
I've had exactly 2 problems that turned out to actually be the OS on my Mac, and both times it was me loading buggy programs.

What Kung said is right. I NEVER have problems with my Mac. This is such a rarity in fact, that I'm not even sure what to do... I never have to troubleshoot ANYTHING. When I was a Windows user however, I knew exactly what to do when this happened: throw out my PC and get a Mac. :thumbup

Does it give you ANY error messages at all?
If not, try this (http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/TroubleshootingTips) to get it working. Like you said, problems with the Mac are such a rarity...I about fell over when you said it wasn't working.
Also...what version did you download? Some of the versions evidently have had a crash problem seen only with Intel Macs; not sure if you have one of those.
