I try to get free worksheets and games online, I also use the public library. Does anyone have other ideas about homeschooling on a shoestring budget?

If you have any thrift shops or Goodwill in your area, go look there. I found a ton of school books for next to nothing. At Goodwill they are a dollar a book. There is one thrift store here that lets you fill up a brown paper bag for $5.00. At that place, I walked out with 65 books for $20.00 (these are expensive books, some of them still had the original price tags on them - a couple had $75.00 price tags on them and I know some of them would've sold for more). Some of the books were actual school books from public schools, some were homeschooling books and some were christian based school books. I couldn't believe the selection. And they were for all grade levels.
Also at Dollar Tree, they have workbooks for different grade levels (mostly pre-K through 3rd grade) and they are on math, spelling, comprehension, etc. They also have things that teachers use for teaching (I've seen lots of teachers loading up on these items). I got alot of those for my 6 year old. They recently got in a lot of learning materials for learning Spanish (workbooks, CD's, etc.) If you have a Big Lots, they tend to have school or learning items every once in awhile that are very cheap.
Also, check with your Church. I have been given homeschooling items from some who no longer need them.
Hope that helps a little. It's what I did, cause I am in a shoestring budget too.
