Rick Warren Teaches How to Get Rid of Troublemakers

Source: Lighthouse Trails

In this week's e-newsletter by Rick Warren, he has written an article titled "What the Bible says about handling disunity." While erroneously stating that the Bible talks more about unity of the church than about Heaven or Hell,:tsk Warren says that those who oppose pastors must be dealt with, and if after two warnings, must be told to leave the church. This certainly is consistent with other statements Warren and his associate pastors have made. For instance, in the Saddleback book Transitioning-->(see RR thread:http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=17179)
by Purpose Driven pastor Don Southerland, Southerland states that those who oppose the Purpose Driven paradigm are like "leader[s] from hell" (pp. 115-116). :tsk

In the article, Warren also has taken Titus 3:10 out of context. He states:

Titus 3:10-11 says, "Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned."No pastor wants to do this, but at last resort you may need to remove the contentious person from the church. You've got to protect the unity of your church. If that means getting rid of troublemakers, do it.:ohno:tsk

But a careful examination of Titus 3:10 explains that those who should be rebuked are those who are causing division through FALSE TEACHINGS (heresies): "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject (KJV, Titus 3:10). The greek word for heretick is hairetikos, which means a follower of a false doctrine or a heretic.1

It says to remove the person from the church. Well, I guess you'd tell them to leave, but what if they kept showing up at services anyway, and continued to cause disunity by disagreeing with what you teach. What would you do then? Call the police? You know, that would be pretty hard to do, call the police to have someone removed from church because they didn't agree with you.

MountainGirl.. take a look at the thread called Transitioning.. it is amazing what they do. From my own experience, one is called "troublemaker, divisive, deceitful, taking things out of context, etc.." and one is yelled at.

What true Christian would want to belong to such an heretical, NAZI church as PDL's? It would be an HONOR to be kicked out of such a place. It's just their true colors shining through :banned.

RW and friends have a common mission - unity - at all costs

This is clear because:

1) Preaching 'another gospel' that doesn't offend or exclude

2) Militant in their group mindset - conform or leave

a. Pastors must attend training seminars
b. Congregants must sign a covenant

3) Pursuit of ecumenicalism

If RW and the EC's are successful in this endeavor their respective groups will merge with the RCC and it will all be done for unity. 'Let's overlook our differences and be stronger in number with what we do agree on'.

This is happening so people will stop being doctrinal in their thinking. Once this is accomplished, the biblical reasons they had to resist uniting will be blurred or forgotten. To my mind, falling away from biblical Christianity in order to accomplish things for the 'greater good' is just paving the way for the one world religion.
