I am looking for a whey powder that I can add to recipes. I found one called Anywhey by Optimum. Do you know anything about this. I lose weight better with more protein in my diet. I am on NS right now and they add whey to their foods, and I want to start adding this to my own cooking (hehe I typed cookies 3 times before getting it right)

Hey girlie-
So sorry- I just saw this just now!! :hehee I'll have to check out a website I'm thinking of- I've only seen one that you can cook with- all the others denature when you overheat them......don't know what that means, but they don't recommend you cook with them. The other option is egg white powder- not sure how that would work- might have to adjust the recipe for more liquid, not sure. I'll back back to you later today on that website- I think it's www.allthewhey.com, but let me check it out and I also have a coupon code for them that will save you 5%- not a lot, but it should almost cover the shipping anyway :)

Okay wife- I found one site that has whey especially for cooking: http://www.bariatriceating.com/anywhinpr.html

I like the nutritional profile- nothing artifical, very low cal, high protein :) I think a good price is less than $.50 a serving which this is just higher than that, but when you are looking for a specialty item- like to add in cooking, sometimes you have to take what you can get. I'm going to look a little more though. I'll be back :hat

Wife,
I have been pretty frustrated in not being able to find that website I once had. But I did find you the same protein powder as in my previous post even cheaper at amazon. Here is your cookable whey (http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-3658680-8423269?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=any+whey)and it's only $28.34 for 60 servings and it's eligible for free super saver shipping, so that brings your cost per serving under my $.50 limit :thumb They do recommend that you don't actually cook with it, but add it to foods after it has been heated- but I think cooking is okay too if you can find some good recipes for it. Hope this helps :hat
