So I'm looking for books that thoroughly address the problems with the seeker-sensitive movement/purpose driven movement. One that I could possibly recommend and/or lend to others, including my pastor and/or future pastors.

There are so many books out there, by different authors. Some of y'all read multiple books. I have no idea which one's the best. :idunno

Any majority or unanimous recommendations?

Redefining Christianity - Understanding the Purpose Driven Movement:thumb:thumb
SKU: CIC0001

Bob DeWaay has received many e-mails over the last two years from people concerned about what has happened to their churches since they became Purpose Driven. This book will explain what has happened, why it has happened, and how a Purpose Driven church is different from a Bible-centered, Gospel church.

Excerpt from Redefining Christianity:

"Jesus said, "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you" (John 15:19). Not even the greatest marketing genius can change this without redefining the church. Seeking the approval of the world is precisely what the Purpose Driven movement is all about."

Deceived On Purpose by Warren Smith AND A Time of Departing, Ray Yungen, both available at lighthousetrailsresearch.com. These are both excellent books. In other words, you will be unable to put them down until read cover to cover! :thumb :thumb

Three books that I have read, all by John MacArthur...

"Ashamed of the Gospel"
"Fools Gold"
"Hard to Believe"

The first one was written in the early 90's, when the seeker movement was just starting to noticeably emerge.

John MacArthur is very perceptive to the seeker movement and has no problem naming names and calling a spade a spade.
