Dear all,
I visited a SDA church the past Saturday
That pastor said ,
1.church teaching Sunday worship are all daughter of BABYLON
2.church teaching Heaven and Hell are all daughter of BABYLON
And he quote ,
Revelation 17
5This title was written on her forehead:
MYSTERY
BABYLON THE GREAT
THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
My question is " is SDA a cult in your opinion? "
I am just wondering if i should still keep going there

In a word, YES, they are a cult. Don't go there. Websites that will explain them: www.letusreason.org www.carm.org www.deceptioninthechurch.org
Try to find a good Calvary Chapel church that is not into Emergent or Purpose Driven teachings. Welcome to RR :hat! go to the Apostasy Forum to read articles about what to avoid in today's churches:).

Yes, they are a cult trapped in legalism, not a true church, run away! :runhills

Col 2:16 -- Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days
Yes, they are a cult. :)
God bless.

Yep Cult city. I read the first 6 chapters of E.G. White's "The Great Controversy" and filled all the margins with notes on where they twisted scripture, misrepresented everything from historic facts to the teachings of the Catholic Church before I gave in to the headache and threw it in the garbage where it well and truly belongs.
The SDA teach that Jesus and Michael the Archangels (the angel of the Lord) are one and the same person, which would make Jesus a created being and therefore not God in the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity.
The fact of the matter is that the early church ceased worshiping on the sabbath even in the Book of Acts. Though we owe many things to them, we are not Jews and ceased being Jews between the time that Our Lord ascended into heaven and the time when the last book of the New Testament was written.
Christians worship on the first day of the week (Sunday) because we celebrate the resurrection, not the Jewish sabbath.

Jewish Sabbath???
Exd 20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:
Exd 20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
God made the Sabbath at the creation, and, as far as I know, Adam and Eve were not Jewish and are the ancestors of us ALL.
Please show me in scriptue where sunday is sanctified and hallowed.
Only God can make something Holy, not man.
Please show scriptual evidence for sunday worship.
If keeping the Sabbath is legalism, then why keep any of the ten commandments?
Can I cheat on my wife?
Can I lie or steal?
Can I bow down to other gods?
Can I murder?
Why do we insist on keeping 9 commandments and not keep the Sabbath commandment?
I have argued this for 10 years and no one can compete, so please qualify your statement of worshipping on sunday due to the ressurection with scriptural evidence or proof.

Every day is a great day to worship God :)
If you are waiting for the weekend you may have a problem.

So true Brother, but what day was made Holy by our Lord at creation as a day of rest and worship?

Thank you for quoting this!
Indeed, any group that believes they are better for worshipping on a specific day are way off base. I attended a Messianic Jewish Congregation and many started harping that they were superior because they worshipped on Saturday...and they were Gentiles who were getting carried away with wearing talits and kippahs, being kosher, etc.

God gave no command to Adam & Eve to observe the seventh day in any particular manner. Furthermore, the first time it's called the "Sabbath" is in the days of Moses. There is no record of anyone keeping the Sabbath between Adam & Moses.
