This is our first year homeschooling. We are only homeschooling our ninth grader this year, just to get our feet wet. Awesome results so far. He is accelerating and learning so much. He's planning on starting a college program for highschoolers when he's sixteen.
Our two elementary school children, second and fourth, are still in public school. We don't really have any intention of taking them out until we see how they do in middle school. Their elementary school is a great school and they're doing very well!

Welcome aboard :hug, you will find it truly a blessed thing to see how much your children learn and grow and how you will learn and grow right a long with them.
Welcome aboard we're so glad you're here. The ladies here (or sisters as I call them) are such a blessing to have, they share ideas, links to all kinds of supportive sites, curriculum, freebies, and more.
May God continue to bless you on this journey and just let his spirit lead you in your homeschooling.
Love you sister in Christ,
Nannette (a.k.a. LupusMommyto5)

:wave Welcome to hs, we did it opposite from you. We hs a 3rd & 6th grade and our oldest is a sophomore in public high school. Geez, that just made me feel old.
This board has a wonderful group of ladies (sometimes men) who share so much as mentioned above.
Welcome. :hat

Welcome! I'm a homeschooling newbie too. But we started out with our kindergartener this year to get our feet wet. Today we pulled our eight year old out of public school. Woo hoo!! What a relief to have finally made that decision! I have two middle schoolers who are next when we have settled into a routine and if that seems to be God's will, I hope!

Hello!:wave We are different from everyone :ohno We only have homeschooled during middle school. That's when everything seems to go downhill. Our daughter is the only one who hasn't homeschooled. All 3 of my boys during middle school have hs. We are doing our 7th grade son now. They have went thru highschool but I do not know if our last one is going to go. Our daughter is struggling in 9th grade right now because of the "no child left behind" thing and getting up so freakishly early but feels she would be too bored at home.

Hi:wave We are new to hs this year as well. (ds 6th grade) :)
We also have dd in 3rd at ps and one dd who will begin kindergarten at ps next year.
I have discovered that i LOVE hs, and ds is adjusting well, too.
I would love for both dd be home with us, but our 3rd grader is thriving at ps, and my 5y/o is excited about going to school where her big sis goes, and it is a very good school.
