Well, I'm not surprised at all.
They are much like the mormons and jehovah's witnesses.
A friend of mine and I actually did a Bible study, once, with the SDA's. They read from a KJV, however. They did try to show us that concept of Jesus being Michael the Archangel but I could never grasp that concept.
I also remember how they taught that the Catholics rewrote the Ten Commandments and they also tried to instill into us that the SDA was the only correct and true church.
That's the 3 things I remember that they tried to teach us.

Jesus Christ and the Bible are the source of my faith, and Jesus the source of my salvation.
