Hi Everyone. I came across a very good summary this morning on what the Bible has to say regarding money and thought I would share it. :)

Thanks for posting, interesting article. Here's one of my favorites from the article:
8. Use just weights and measures. Unjust weights and measures are an abomination. Therefore the dollar, which used to be a weight of gold, is no longer a just weight of gold. The dollar is fraud, and an abomination. The dollar is also a deception, a broken promise, because it used to be a promise to pay a certain amount of gold or silver.
Leviticus 19:35 Use honest scales and don't cheat when you weigh or measure anything
Deuteronomy 25:15 If you weigh and measure things honestly, the LORD your God will let you enjoy a long life in the land he is giving you.
Proverbs 20:10 Two things the LORD hates are dishonest scales and dishonest measures
Exodus 20:15 Do not steal
That certianly gives me pause about the direction of the US...and it's fiat dollar economy.

44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

I skimmed the article and it seems inconsistent within itself.
What i found quite nasty was the part that said that i may not partake in insurance.
Well, hello, here in the Netherlands we are obliged to partake in health insurance and on the other hand it would be disastrous for people if they would get ill or got an accident.
Because the hospitals and doctors are terribly expensive, one would generate a large amount of debt without health insurance and oops, debt isn't allowed either.
If i'd followed all what the article said, i'd be worse off anyway.
I think i'll just read my bible self regarding financial wisdom and keep good advice from other people in mind.
Oh yeah, the article had nothing about giving the firsts of your income either.

Isn't it interesting that the article warned about debt etc and how debt is nothing more than slavery. Yet we're instructed to be like Joseph, who bought low and sold high, and who also essentially enslaved the world around him...instructing the people to give 20% of their earnings to Pharoah as opposed to 10% of their earnings to God.
And this is utterly ridiculous:
If you invest a single ounce of gold, and invest it for 6000 years, since the time of Adam, you can see the truth of usury. You can grow an ounce of gold into 6 billion ounces of gold (which is more gold than has been mined in all of human history) at a mere 1/4 of 1% rate of interest! And if you grow from an ounce of gold at 2% for 6000 years, then all the atoms of the universe would all be gold, and it would all belong to you. Therefore, it is impossible for extremely large money to grow more than 1/4 of 1% per year. And if it does, it will have corresponding years of losses to make up for it, because no man can own all the gold in the world. But small amounts of money can grow at extremely fast rates: you can buy a can of coke for 50 cents, and resell it for a dollar in one day to make a 100% return.
Unbelievable!!
Oh! And I love the advice NOT to invest in Enron!!!! That's priceless.

Question: What does the author of the article use for "money"?

I agree much of the article comments were nutty as well... but it sure was interesting to have all the Bible references regarding money on 1 page. I spent a few hours re-reading most of them and forgot about what the Bible had to say about many things, most interestingly the notes on debt.
Our trade deficit went from $250 Billion at the start of the Bush regime to today's $845 PLUS Billion. It tripled. We've also added 2.5 Trillion to our National Debt. Lord Help Us.
