I did a short study on eq on an eq expert site awhile ago. They said that when we see eq in Fiji - that it is a direct correlation to effect California.

They have recently been stating that they are concerned with some sheer stress they are detecting in CA and now with this big quake in Fiji - I wonder if this has added to their concerns.

You can tell it is opposite California in the famed "Ring of Fire."

Absolutely. The silence on entire west coast of the US with all the other activity is being read as a real concern. The movement of all those other areas means that there is pressure building on those fault lines that is not being released.
It is sort of like if you try to push things onto a shelf at one end - things fall off on the other end. The shelf is being loaded in Fiji and the pressure is building on the West coast of the US.
The stress level is being seen in the instruments.
