Our planet is just five years away from climate change catastrophe - but can still be saved, according to a new report.

Planet is five years from disasterThe World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) warns governments have until 2012 to "plant the seeds of change" and make positive moves to limit carbon emissions.

If they fail to do so, the WWF's Vision For 2050 warns "generations to come will have to live with the compromises and hardships caused by their inability to act".

"We have a small window of time in which we can plant the seeds of change, and that is the next five years," James Leape, from the WWF, said.

"We cannot afford to waste them. This is not something that governments can put off until the future."

Between now and 2050, the world's energy needs are expected to double.

2012!?

Oye - that Mayan Calander thing is looking more and more accurate, eh?

But anyhoo - this is obvious "ballyhooing" on the part of an organization that wants money, simple as that. It is supremely arrogant to believe that in 5 years mankind can turn the tide of global weather!

Id have to go with you on this one:)

There is alot of money for countries and companies that keep "preaching" in the name of their gods of mother nature.

That is so foolish mankind thinks it is God and can save itself. It can't even run itself with smaller things. This job is too big for mankind and couldn't be done in just a 5 year time frame. This sounds like a call for the anti-christ to come save us. Oh he'll stand up in the near future with all the answers. Get his mark and worship him or lose your head! It's right around the corner and so is the Rapture. Come Quickly Lord Jesus Christ!

A New Zealand weather man predicted in five years, Global Warming would be a joke.

It already is ;)

God is in control. "Global warming" isn't going to destroy us. We're destroying ourselves, by choice. Eventually I suspect it will be a nuclear destruction. A few astroids would also help bring about world wide calamity. Either way, God is in control; not man. Our "works" won't save us from His will.
