U.S. teens still lag behind in science and math (Internationally)
15-year-old Americans score below average in latest international test

WASHINGTON - U.S. students are lagging behind their peers in other countries in science and math, test results out Tuesday show.
The test, the Program for International Student Assessment, was given to 15-year-olds in 30 industrialized countries last year. It focused on science but also included a math portion.
The 30 countries, including the United States, make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which runs the international test.
The average scores for U.S. students were lower than the average scores for the group as a whole.
U.S. students also had an average science score that was lower than the average score in 16 other OECD countries. In math, U.S. students did even worse — posting an average score that was lower than the average in 23 of the other leading industrialized countries.
The test also was administered to students in about two dozen countries or jurisdictions that are not part of the industrialized group.
When compared with the broader group, the U.S. students fell in the middle of the pack in science and did somewhat worse in math.

In science the order was Finland, Hong Kong and Canada.
In Math the order was Finland, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
Well, the U.S. is too busy teaching about homosexuality, birth control, boosting "self esteem" for being dumbed down and waging wars on "too much homework".

To the right, under highlight you'll see more information on just how bad the U.S. is doing. We are self destructing from so many directions it makes ones head spin like a top.

The entire U.S. doesn't measure up to other industrialized countries and now mediocre in others. I'm sorry about your test scores ... however for this to be the result for the U.S. in academics is shocking to say the least.
Dumbed down people are easier to manipulate and control. All they have left to rely on are their emotions. This verse comes to mind for me not only for Biblical knowledge but general knowledge:
Eph.4:14
[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
It's all about ignorance or not knowing anything. So then you'll believe anything. See where I'm coming from?
Our next generation is going to be a mass. Can you imagine these kids properly running our country when they have rejected God and don't know anything? In the near future we will see the fruits of this dumbing down as they run for political office and run corporations - we don't have a chance of remaining a "super power" with idiots at the helm.

If they mean "US teens will not learn evolution because of their beliefs" in science, then I don't see what their problem is. They will have to let it go instead of trying to compete with other countries.
But Math on the other hand need to be worked on... And I think the math book they are currently using is not helping ( "Everyday Mathematics" )

Another thing, people from other countries like to learn from us.. They say their country lack creativity. In their countries, they learn by the book. And lack of creativity make them less successful and less likely to understand what they are learning. (Hands on approach usually help the students and make them say "OHHHHH, I GET IT !!! " )

I would like to see how those other countries test. Do they test ALL of the students in their countries like ALL students are tested in the United States. Let's say they only test the top 50% of their students, already those countries would be at an advantage and the results would actually be meaningless if we are not playing on an even field.
If someone is hiding the fact that the playing field is not the same, then I would question the person agenda for why the huge point in differences in test scores.
Might the agenda be for political fodder?

People from other countries wanted to come here and learn and STAY. They aren't do that anymore. They still come for our higher education but they don't stay. For the last 10 years or more the awards in science and math for adults are awarded to FOREIGN born Americans. Foreign born! Native born Americans aren't achieving anything - instead we have the A; Gore types, totally without knowledge "winning awards" - junk science! U.S. born citizens are not getting the serious math or science awards ... I forget the names of these awards ... not the Noble Peace thingies ... others that are legitimate and prestigious.
My spouse was born in Hong Kong. He came over here for his graduate and under graduate education. He had a student visa, no money from the U.S. government ... he worked his way through ... and graduated with a 3.98 in Physics for his Masters Degree in an Ivy League University ... anyway I don't want to get caught up in that ... my point is that it is known that in the U.S. for undergraduate school, the first two years are equal to HK's last two years of high school. After the first two years of undergraduate school, THEN you have to work - a little - but not a whole lot. This goes back to the late 60's and 70's that he earned his degrees. Now more of our undergraduate school is covered in their HIGH SCHOOL. We are fiercely slipping in real knowledge.
Science and math are both important. They complement each other. How can the U.S. expect to remain a world leader with out God and with dumbed down people whose only resort is their EMOTIONS to lean on for decision making? To make sound decisions, you can NOT lean on EMOTIONS. You need objective FACTS and clear THINKING. Your EMOTIONS will mislead you ... calm, cool and collected with KNOWLEDGE is the way to go.
When you throw God out of your life and no knowledge of Him or anything else, you are left with EMOTIONS to steer your way in life. This is what liberals lean on to get through life and make decisions ... and why they are illogical and appear hypocritical ... do we really need an entire country of dumbed down, egotiscal, narcistic, airheads? How far is that going to get the U.S.? Hmmmm ?
Kids today are narcistic, disobedient, on drugs to curb their behavior and they don't know the effect that these drugs are having on their developing brains. I am referring to putting little and teens on drugs like Zoloft, Prozac and with Ritalin - they know it stunts your growth ... so the educrats recommend taking the kids off this drug during the summer and put them back on during school time so teachers can have a controllable kid ... . This is not good.
Already instead of staying in the U.S. foreigners are returning to their native country to have a better life after they have completed what they wanted from the U.S. - for example in India ... some come here for medical training ... to read x-rays you need to be a physician .... they learn that here ... go back to India ... many U.S. hospitals now send the X-rays via e-mail ... have it analyzed by U.S. trained doctors and e-mail the analysis back in 24 hours. It's cheaper, timely and the analysis is the same as having it done here since they are U.S. trained.
If you think that foreign born teachers trained here, don't go back to their own country to beef up their hard science/math programs that's being naive. Eventually others will not have the need to come here for our education. Theirs will be superior ... in fact I wonder if it isn't already and we're just riding the coat tails of an OLD but good reputation. The fact is that the U.S. is slipping DOWN and others are rising UP. It is a serious problem that will get worse with time if it is not corrected and I don't think it will be ... academia is owned for the most part by godless liberals.
Godless academia, for the primary years, can not even entertain the thought of vouchers for people who don't want their kids in godless government schools - that tells me something - they know they can't exist if parents have school CHOICE. Choice is happily allowed for birth control and abortion but not for a sound education or even celebrating Christian holidays as they allowed in the past - Christmas ... Easter ... . No! You need to be neutralized on homosexuality and even elevate it! Keep God out of the school! Base "science" on godless evolution which doesn't make sense and even deifes the laws of science.
I caught the end of a radio talk show and it was stated that the U.S. is either in place 25 or 26 in International placing - for science and math out of 30 advanced countries. That's shocking!
I just hope He comes soon!
I don't know when ... but I'm convinced that there is a destructive delusion going on as promised in the Bible before His return and this stuff is part of it.

They had the same test as the U.S. students for math and science.
The Reading test for the U.S. students was thrown out because of bad directions and some other things. Who knows if U.S. students can read or comprehend anything ... if they can't do that, then we can't expect them to do well in math and science ... .
The playing field for these tests are equal. It's not about the test. It's all about how DUMB the U.S. kids are becoming. I'd love to make up excuses for the U.S. but I'd be lying to you. This has been going on for YEARS - the U.S. slipping in math and science ... now it's becoming painfully pathetic.
Unfortunately how this will be used is to have U.S. kids go to preschool earlier and have the government kick in $$$ for those at the "poverty" level but there will be no improvement on WHAT they are taught - therein is the problem! In math and science they are teaching "fuzzy math", "fuzzy logic" and junk science with low standards so as to not "hurt peoples feelings". THIS is where the problem is - WHAT they are teaching and WHERE they spend more time - touchy feely stuff - "self esteem"... etc.. Liberals will use this as a way to extract more money from you - playing on your emotions - to do more educational damage ... .
To further elaborate on that, read this ...
In Gaps at School, Weighing Family Life
THE federal No Child Left Behind law of 2002 rates schools based on how students perform on state standardized tests, and if too many children score poorly, the school is judged as failing.
(That is WHY "NCLB" was started - our kids are getting DUMBER)

Liberals have had great success in destroying Christian and traditonal family values - not having MOM raise her own kids - nah she's too good and important for THAT - have OTHERS "educated" in that raise your kids ... "poverty" is the reason - Nah, Lincoln was poorer than a church mouse and home schooled himself - no excuse for "poverty" as the excuse ... divorced parents - YES - many problems with that - liberals and others ... often have NO PROBLEM with that ... in short, we reap what we sow ... .
As always the solution is bigger government and YOU get the bill for promoting irresponsibility ... it all reminds me of Johnson's "war on poverty" and creating the welfare state that ripped families a part - relieved the "parents" of financial responsibility and rewarded them financially if they divorced ... and now liberals are IGNORING how government only messes things up more and it's the PARENTS that need to be involved and tune out the LIBERAL agenda on destroying family values and kicking GOD out of their lives!
