The Good Book isn't clean enough for Hong Kong.

Residents of the city are calling for an "indecent" label for the Bible, saying the text contains passages that are too gory for young eyes, Reuters reports.

At least 838 complaints had been registered Wednesday with the city's Television and Entertainment Licensing authority after an anonymous Web site, truthbible.net, said the Bible "made one tremble" with its sexual and violent content, including rape and incest, the news agency reports.

Someone must have got hold of an accurate translation of the Song of Solomon. If it weren't in the Bible it would have been banned in Boston.
:yeah

Well, if they limit bibles only to those 18 years and above, then maybe it will become suddenly popular and the in thing to read. People everywhere will be beating down the doors to get them, buying them on the streets, smuggling them to their friends and relatives....

Ok, wishful thinking...:doh

Crazy. But, to be fair, there are stories in the Bible that don't exactly belong in kids' Bible story books. How many people read Genesis 19 to their six year olds, for example?

But the "indecent" label is pushing it a bit far, methinks.

I don't think it's wishful thinking. I think it's quite possible. Label it indecent and everyone will want to find out why... You can always count on the sin nature of man.

The Bible is "indecent", but they can allow the kids to play violent video games (many of which are made in Asia), where the video player holds the weapon? And, let's not forget all the violence they view in movies and TV, and in the news. I'm sure they also teach the kids their own country's violent history, which involves the invasion of Tibet, Tieneman Square, and the dynasties.

:ohno :fear How angry that must make God! I was crying when I heard that Hong Kong is going to label The Holy Bible as indescent reading material because it contains violence and you have to be 18 and over to purchase one. :idunno :gaah
