1 john 2:15-16 tells us if we love the world and the things in the world...the love of the Father is not in us. when i see my car sitting outside..i think about the inside and do not look at the outer appearance. when i do dishes, i make sure the inside of the cup is clean and then work my way out to the outside. for all that is in the world the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. ahh i gotta have tommy hilfiger clothing he is the best and i gotta have nike shoes. i gotta be clothed in the finest. we cannot love these things if so His love is not abiding in us.

Amen. Once I was woken up to that fact in myself, I turned away from the worldly stuff. With this age we live in (24-hour bombardment of cable/internet/movies) it is easy to slowly get off track. Hang out with one wrong friend (that loves the world), and you can start to stray. You have to guard your heart. That is because the world and it's ways are created by, and appeals to, everybody's same "lusts of the flesh." It is only through the power of Christ that those lusts can be crucified and put to death, and you can escape the corruption of the world.

Amen. Give it up, give it all up. Pour your love into God and what the Lord loves, His people and those who may be His people, Lord willing. This world is fading and dying as we sit. (and I'm really tired of fixing things that break. :lol2 )

Do not love the world or the things in the world
So...do you all think this applies also to the...environment?

No, it doesn't apply to the environment. We are to be good stewards of the environment and God's creation.
