You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away?

What does my wife think? What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

I'm a democrat, i mean i think people don't look at the serious issues at hand...people tallk about gay marriage and abortion, and yes homosexuality is an abomination, and abortion is wrong but at the same time...this War is killing our country....something like 80 million dollars a day, or around that some is spent on killing iraqis...Imagine if bush spent that on childhood to adolescent education or spent that on wages for married couples to receive more benifits, how much do you think crime would go down, becuase most crimes committed are committed by people under 18. Or marriages that fail becuase of finances wouldn't anymore. I mean thats all i see republicans talk about, which is really ignorant...
The problem is that when the govt gets involved with people's lives, it makes things worse. Look at the horrible track record. Throwing more money at it won't change that at all. A rising economy has done pretty much everything when it comes to lifting people out of poverty. The govt traps people.

Marriages are failing and crime and such is bad because of falling values in the society. It has little or nothing to do with the govt and the govt can't change it in the way that you think it can. You want to help the family? Cut the marriage penalty in the tax system. Stop subsidizing single mothers. (Here's the formula: When you subsidize something, you get more off it.) Stop taking God out of every corner of society. Stop killing babies in the womb. Allow people to grow up and be adults. All these govt programs do is create perpetual adolescence.

My family is on the edge financially because I got laid off a few times in the high tech bubble bust. Do I want govt handouts? No. I want a job. What's the best way to generate jobs? Cut taxes. Cut govt spending. Cut govt regulation. That's it. That's all the govt can do. I'll vote Repub because I'll have a better chance of keeping the job I've got because they'll work to keep the Bush tax cuts. If the dems get in and cut the taxes, I'll probably go through another round of layoffs. You want to help me? Cut taxes.

Imagine if we weren't fighting terrorists. Would they go back to their goat herds. Nope. They seriously want to hurt us. Being nice to them won't work. It's like being nice to a cockroach. You can't negotiate with cockroaches. They don't go away on their own. Appeasement gets people killed.

Look how much the value of the American dollar has decreased, 8 years ago i think we where like 20cents to the dollar for Canadian Currency, and like a month ago though it did drop the Canadian dollar was worth more than US Dollar....Bush is a terrible president ....
What did Bush do to make the dollar sink?

As though Gore or Kerry would have been better. No tax breaks. Horrible economy. Bowing to the UN. Then you'd see problems.

That is funny....kind of. Would I really blow the guy away? Probably not. I don't carry a gun in my pocket. I am not going to pretend to be a tuff guy behind my key board either. I am trusting the Lord that I am never in that scenario. I am a follower of Jesus first and foremost. Jesus rebuked Peter when he cut off the soldiers ear as I recall. I think it is actually easier to fight than not to fight...
