Can anyone help me? What's the best GPS you can get for your car and one you can carry around too? We have to order it from the INTERNET before we leave on vacation on the 23rd of this month. Would really appreciate any help on this. Thx. Rach.

Might be easier just to run down to your nearest electronics store. There are so many good ones but it all boils down to how much are you willing to spend and what features do you need. I don't know if I want to spend $500 for a car unit and then carry it around in the elements to find a spot.

Thanks, we found some at CC for a good price. Thanks for the advice. :)

That's the brand DH just ordered for himself for Christmas from me :aha. It's also hand-held. He has a new part-time job where he drives around alot. He's constantly getting lost. Hopefully this will help :aha.

I agree with the Garmin for handhelds but for vehicles I'm not too sure. The Magellans for vehicles seem pretty good although I don't think I'll buy Magellan again - simply because the first (and last) one I bought did not last too long. For handhelds, the best hands down, according to online reviews, is the Garmin GPSMap 60CSx (although I don't have that one). I like my Garmin eTrex Vista HCx since it is small and detects overhead satellites at lightning speeds, even under moderate cover.
For those who are interested in the country of manufacture: Taiwan.
