A former Rwandan provincial leader has been sentenced to life in prison by the United Nations tribunal dealing with the country’s 1994 genocide after it convicted him for his role in the killings, including the massacre of hundreds of Tutsis who had sought refuge in a church.
Is this a sign of where we are headin or what, U.N. sentencing a man. When did the United Nations gain sovernty over a individual country?:thinking:idunno
I know it is coming but when did they get this power??

It sounds kind of like the world courts that tried the Nazis after WWII at Nuremberg. There are international tribunals set up like this. Pol Pot of Cambodia was to be turned over to one, but died before it happened.
But I agree, I don't like the sound of it, either.

Truem and I can see where with the Nazi trials the countries there were the ones that were involved with the war (Hitler attacked all of Europe and Northern Africa). I am not argueing that this guy shouldn't be in prison but I am a little nervous when say for example China comes and tells me an American that I am guilty of a crime and should go to prison. That worries me. :thinking

Johnny Ray,
Yes, I agree. It's another step toward the erosion of national sovereignty, and the U.N. calling the shots. One World Government on the way.

The Rwandan leader was prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Not for the violation of any one country's laws, but a gross violation of basic human rights.

Exactly. He was tried by an international party because his crimes were not a trespass on any one country's laws per se, but a trespass on international laws.
This isn't a sign that the UN is trying to take over the world:ohno

You wonder why the UN didn't go after Saddam Hussein for what he and his son's did in Iraq. Crimes against basic human rights wouldn't you say. How many other leaders out there they should prosecute the same way but ignore.

yes it is......The EU gets the Nod from the UN.....The UN is Global, the EU is a region of Unions.
The EU is a union of European states akin to the United states of Europe.:hat They have one currency the Euro, and a consolidated government which governs the European continent.
The EU is known as the infrastructure of the revived roman empire spoken of by Prophecy as the fourth beast in Daniels Dream, I just woke up so I think that's in chapter 11..:scratch I need to get back to sleep.:fear But the EU just recently had a ratification of their doctrine or whatever you call it and they set it up as to have a supreme leader/president. This could VERY WELL, lead to the exact position of the A/C. the A/C will more than likely use this position in the future.
