:scratchI'm not sure if the mouse is created fearless, or has been stupified.

The article states that it proves we are hard wired to have fear. I dunno, I no some people who seem fearless, but I think it comes from ignorance.

How dumb!!!! Let's extend their grant, more brilliant research to come. :(

God help us if some of these messed up man made mutants get into the general population and start passing around these messed up genes. Frankenstein is being surpassed. What about trying to fix some these genetic diseases that are caused by a wrecked gene here and there?

And it'll boldly go down places where no mouse has gone before! :heh

Seriously, this proves fear instinct is given to creatures for good reason. I hope this poor mouse doesn't make it to the outside of the lab! :tsk

Ok, so we can kill fear genetically. Whoop dee do.

But is it healthy, or just a shortcut to doing yourself in with "indestructible" thought engineering?

Y'know, they could breed, hybrid, or whatever soldiers that don't fear anything, but wouldn't they be a kind of a "suicidal soldier?"

Anyway, it is possible to imagine where this is going.

I wonder if they could give this gene to the Republicans? I keep going back in my mind to Pninky and The Brain.http://www.flickr.com/photos/34429535@N00/99660961/

Militarily speaking this a general or special ops' dream. I think there is more to this than just a cute photo with a mouse and a cat.

They also discovered that the cat was friendly to the mouse because of no fear.

Imagine Tommy and Jerry being friends :)

I don't the friendship would last long if the cat became very, very desperately hungry

and I personally don't think it will ever work on humans unless you make them dumb as a mouse. Humans know why they are afraid of something. ... it might help those who are afraid of everything even though they have no reason to.
