I just saw an advertisement on FNC for a "Rick Warren Christmas Special". I didn't catch the date/time. But doesn't matter...not that I expect FNC to know that Warren doesn't teach the one true Gospel, but this is still disappointing. But on the other hand, I guess it's miraculous that a secular news network would broadcast a Christian (I use that term lightly with Warren) service.

Christian Service? Rick Warren? Only if you define "Christian" to include false Christianity.

I'm sorry, heybales, but I just don't think this is commendable in any way.

If he sticks to just the traditional story of Christ's birth, then I think it's commendable. Some people who may never attend a church service or watch a Christian network might watch this. I :pray they here the true story of Jesus' birth and not some watered-down, feel-good story.

I understand what you are saying in your post above, and I agree. Telling the true Christmas story would be a good thing.

What I was objecting to is FOX putting Rick Warrren out there as one of their Christian consultants; someone who is supposedly representing the Truth and other evangelicals. FOX also does this with a catholic priest, whose name escapes me just now. (He's young and handsome with perfect hair :heh)

I should have been more clear in my previous post......

I just came up with this while reading the title of this post.

(to the tune of Jingle Bells)

Dashing through the church
with a new age powered book
tearing down the brethren
everywhere you look

Bells and breath prayer centered
make your service right
Oh what fun to scold dissenters
and drive them out of sight

OH purpose driven, purpose driven
purpose driven slay
Selling Gospel for a price
and all the faithful pay

OH purpose driven, purpose driven
purpose driven slay
Unite the world no matter the cost
and have the kingdom of God today
