I taught the Rapture to my kids even when they were younger. I had to "counter" it, so to speak, by saying that if the Lord doesn't come for awhile, that their graduation, marriage, future jobs, would be important.

I wanted them to see this in a practical manner. That He could still come any day, but they still needed to make plans in case He didn't come soon.

what is this scare tactic supposed to accomplish?

It is supposed to get the Christians to pray more, seek more eagerly God's face, fast more, read more the Bible, apart more from this world and its sins, prepare themselves, preach more the gospel of the Lord.:hat

we all know that God is not cruel but my daugter means a lot to me. HELP, oh and a lot of christians are using scare tactics of saying not many will be going in the rapture.which is like saying God is only going to rapture a few christians and leave the rest behind no matter how hard they are trying.

That is not true. God will rapture those that live a life for God and are separated from a sinful life. According to Bible profecies, 50% of the church will be raptured.

Btw, another sign that we are close to the Rapture is the increasing level of violence and deadly shootings this week.

Has anyone noticed about the stabbing of a Baptist pastor with some other churchgoers plus the shootings in Alabama and Germany?

I would be interested in knowing what scriptures you are using to justify your statement that 50% of the church will be raptured...

Oh, and perhaps you could confirm what you mean when you say 'church'. Do you mean all who are saved and are still alive at the time of the rapture, all who profess to be Christian and are still alive, or the entire church (which includes those who have already died).

My view is that 100% of those true believers who are still alive at the time of the rapture will be raptured. No true believers will be left behind.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

You do not have to be good enough to be raptured or good enough to go to heaven.
You just have to be saved (not talking about easy believeism)
The Rapture will be 100% of Jesus' true invisible church and 0% of the religious lost church members.
Violence is not a sign of the rapture, we have had violence since Genesis, levels of violence are random and subjective.

What about Christians who are in a backslidden state? Will they go up?

If they are saved, then they will be raptured. If they are not saved, then they won't. The lord knows the difference.

If they are saved then they are saved for heaven and for the rapture

Thus, the children of Eve which is the Mother of all of those that are Living as The Woman in revelation will be spewed a raging torrent at next and they will endure the trial of the implementation of the mark of the number of the name of the false prophet who has a confirmed covenant along with 10 worldwide leaders to restrict the commerce worldwide for 3 1/2 years or 42 months or 1260 days plus 1-2 1/2 months (30-75 days). He will perform miraculous signs and wonders in the presence of the beast from the sea when the 10 leaders arise and they will persecute the saints of God and the Church of Jesus and all of the children of those who hold to the commandments and Testimony of Jesus which is The Spirit of Prophecy. The Woman in Revelation is Israel
