It takes about 37.23 US quarts to make a bushel of wheat. Currently, a day’s wage for the blue collar worker is about ($6.00 x 8 Hrs) = $48.

At current wages for the blue collar worker a quart of wheat would cost $48. A bushel of wheat would be ($48 x 37.23) = $1,787. The current price of wheat is found here http://www.quotewheat.com/

The variable here is the day’s wages. As the day’s wages change, the cost of wheat per Rev 6:6 changes. Barley would be ($48 x 1/3 x 37.23) = $595 per bushel, where the 1/3 is “three quarts of Barley”.

So, what countries produce Wheat? According to Wikipedia the top ten countries are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat

India 72
United States 57
Russia 46

Canada 26
Australia 24

When the Two Witnesses start there work and shut up the sky so that it will not rain, these countries can bet it will affect them.

It is useful to see these things in context. Good post.

Stupid ethanol push. Farmers are going away from wheat to corn because of the demand for ethanol.

No quite true. In our area, farmers planted more wheat. Getting almost 10 dollars a bushel they cut down on corn and beans to plant more wheat...Same amount of corn, same amount of beans for us

Do you all remember when oil hit 50 dollars a barrel? When oil prices started to go up the American truckers and trucking companys had to charge more for shipping to make up for the extra expense, then the cost make it way down to us.
An example is when milk started going up last spring. The dairy farmer made the same amount as they always did.. they didn't get a raise, but the company who picks up and processes the milk made the price go up to make up for the fuel and electric to run their businesses. T
So its not the ethanol to me its the big oil companies who gouged us during every little blow of wind in the gulf, that started all this .. they started this snow ball rolling of the prices jumping..... Just look this passed summer when there was a threat of a hurricane, before it even got around the gulf, they raised the price of gas...and the storm never hit, and they keep the price up for a couple of weeks. Who made the money, it wasn't me, and it wasn't my local grocery.
Right now we had three ethnaol plants being built in our area.. Two have stopped building because of no more finanical backing. The only one that is proceeding is the one plant that is half owned by Marathron a oil company.
The next blame is our goverment who sells our oil to other countries.
