Open Range is one of my favorites. I especially like Charlie's (Kevin Costner) line, "you may not know this, but there's things that gnaw at a man worse than dying."

I'm with you on this one.

Anything with Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Arnold Schwartzenegger or Sylvester Stallone

If I had to pick three movies id pick

1. Predator
2. Bloodsport
3. Rambo

I wish they made more movies like these today but I guess guys spend most of their entertainment dollar on video games now

I went through the nonsense in my 20s when the idea was that men should be softer and gentler. I shunned John Wayne movies because we weren't supposed to be like John Wayne. It was a John Wayne movie that snapped me out of it. Rio Lobo, I think it was. I watched it and proudly proclaimed that I wasn't putting up with that sissy crap. I'm a guy and I'm darned proud of it. So don't try to make me be something I'm not. Alan Alda can be a wimp if he likes, but not me. I like guy movies and I'm not going to apologize for that.

The Princess Bride

As much as I enjoy The Princess Bride, I don't think it qualifies as a guy movie.

Ace Attorney, what's wrong with calling some of the movies mentioned 'guy movies'? Why are you calling the ones mentioned 'sexist'? This is a Men's Forum. It should be expected. You're certainly free to mention what you like, but when you start calling the ones already mentioned sexist it seems you're trying to start an argument.

Evidence, like beauty, seems to be in the eye of the beholder...and that's why one might not see a whole blessed brontosaurus in the room, what to say of an elephant.

There must be some parallel dimension where guy movies don't exist, or they're artificial and sexist. :doh!

I apologise if my earlier post was a bit snarky. I'm done with this thread.

1) The Train. It's got French partisans, Nazis and some serious railroad action including real wrecks. What more could a guy want?
2) Shawshank Redemption. A movie where real men can cry without shame.
3) The Blues Brothers. Do I have to explain that? I didn't think so.

I read the "Blues Brothers" book after seeing the movie. It was even funnier.

Yeah, Blues Brothers is a guy movie.

How about "The Meaning of Life" by Monty Python?

I went to that one with a couple of friends and their wives. The wives were disgusted while us three guys laughed our heads off.

It's a bit much, even for Python, and much of what is presented you couldn't talk about on this site, and I wouldn't show it to my kids. Still...

Any 3 Stooges movie. I've only met a handful of women who like the Stooges.
