We are funding both sides of this war with our use of Middle Eastern oil.
Brazil requires multi-fuel vehicles, and so should we at a cost of $100 per vehicle to the manufacturer.
Practically no electricity produced in the US is from oil. Coal and nuke. The largest percentage of oil is used in the transportation sector.
Ethanol is a poor choice unless it's from sugar beets, not corn. There are much better places in the world than the US to produce ethanol producing plants.
Methanol is a better source than ethanol. Indy cars used to use it until ADM got involved with sponsorship.
It takes 16 years to get all of the old cars out of the system.
You'll learn more about energy in 50 minutes than you will listening to the nightly news for a year.
