What are some of your favorite snacks that are low in calories. I don't mind a few "empty calorie"--LOL those are good to have.

Here are my diet snacks! Got ALOT of them!
1) Dill or hot pickles.
2) Nuts. I love cashews and smoked almonds.
3) Cheese, most any kind, Jarlsburg and gouda are my favorites along with summer sausage (no crackers).
4)Popcorn!!! (if I am not cutting out carbs) The plain ol white kind that you can pour into a small brown paper bag and nuke in the microwave. The only problem is that without oil the salt doesn't stick.
5) Apples and peaut butter.
6) Chocolate. A little bit of any kind will do. A couple of Hershey kisses is the usual.

My snacks are mostly still from my low carb days. Although I didn't stick with it (only 2 yrs.), I find the high protein helps!

Just before 8:00am - Breakfast: hard-boiled or poached egg (we have microwave poachers that take about 55 seconds!), and a string cheese. I eat this in my car on the way to work (maybe not the best thing? :fear)

10am-ish: 1/3 or 1/2 of a small lowfat cottage cheese

noon lunch: salad usually (I know the dressing's bad-but I LOVE ranch!)

3:30pm-ish: a handful of almonds (not the extremely salty ones) or 10-12 triscuits (my favorite cracker!)

This usually holds me over until dinner around 7pm-ish: usually meat - mostly chicken, turkey burger, salmon, lean pork, beef and a veggie. I'm a sucker for sourdough bread though, sometimes have a slice with smart-balance margarine. :)

Actually, I gave you way more than a snack here...it's pretty much my daily menu. :hat

I know they are not the best thing to have but I love the 100 cal snacks (Oreo Crisps, Chips Ahoy Crisps, 100 Ritz Snack Mix, 100 cal Teddy Grahams, etc) Hershey's also has 100 cal Choclate bars and 100 Crispy Wafers that are kind of like a Kit Kat. York Peppermint has 100 cal bars which are yummy and taste like Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Reese has 100 cal bars that are good for a peanut butter fix

LOL you can tell I've really done my research on the 100 cal snack thingies, but they do cut my cravings for anything else sweet and I don't feel deprived from not snacking

A few months ago I started having a Fuji apple as my daily mid-morning snack. I've never been more regular. It's like magic! Fujis are kind of expensive, but you never get a dried out one, the tart/sweet combo is perfect, and they're always nice and big.

I like to keep hard boiled eggs on hand for a quick snack. I don't eat the yolk so to make up for it I eat 2 eggs. :heh Of course if the kids find them I don't get any. :rolleyes
