Way to go Georgia Bulldogs! congratulations you showed America that you should be playing in the championship game! Shut down the undefeated Hawaii team!

Amen! :yeah

When this matchup was decided last month, I figured this would be a no-win situation for Georgia ( not literally) but in the sense that if Georgia loses, then how could it lose to Hawaii who didn't really play any really good teams OR if Georgia won, then they were "supposed" to win. I'm just glad Georgia won, though (convincingly) and I'll be rooting for LSU next week (gotta root for the SEC to win the National Championship 2 years in a row):thumb

Congrats to Coach Richt and the team! And no disrepect meant to the University of Hawaii, which won every game they played until tonight! Remember when Hawaii's coach June Jones was the coach of the Atlanta Falcons? :aha

I don't remember that. But I do think what he did with Hawaii's team deserves respect and honor. He took them from an 0-12 team to a 12-0 team. I don't care who they had to play to do that but it speaks volumes for itself. They were totally out classed against Georgia that was obvious to me by the end of the 1st quarter.

Personally I would have liked to have seen a rematch against Florida or LSU for the national championship. I do not think Ohio State should be there just because they were there last year. I think the whole BCS series is a bunch of junk. There should be playoffs and a College Super Bowl to determine who really is #1>:soapbox

But they will not do that because they could not control the SEC anymore!

Preach it, brother!:preach

I thought it was strange that #3 Ohio State was assumed by everyone to move up to no. 1 when the top 2 teams lost that night (Missouri and WV) but everyone (at least at ESPN) automatically figured #4 Georgia wouldn't move to #2...Nope, they'd be jumped by LSU. I completely understand the principle of not playing for the National Championship if you don't win your conference but as Coach Richt said--why vote UGA no.4 ahead of LSU when you KNOW that LSU is going to play in the SEC champ. game and not UGA? :idunno Hmmmm :scratch....nothing we can do about it, though and several teams have their own arguments, too so I'll just be happy that Georgia won tonight and will hopefully be even stronger this Fall!
You know, one of the MANY effects of walking closer to Jesus these last couple of years has been that all this is really JUST a game. I don't get so wrapped up in it like I used to. I've been saved since I was a kid but I gave into my fleshly nature a lot and nowadays nothing seems to have as much "pull" on me as in the past. My pastor made a comment during church one day a couple of months ago that really hit home. He's a sports fan, too and he said one Sunday something like, "You know, I didn't watch a single football game yesterday and the world didn't end" or something like that(not his exact words but it was funny and similar to how I am now, too.)

I was so keyed up last night after the Sugar Bowl that I didn't even go to bed until 3:10am! Of course the Fiesta Bowl is tonight so I'll watch at least some of that and is the Orange Bowl tomorrow night or Friday night? I'm starting to feel the effects of being up so late.:sleep It's only 4:38 Eastern and I'm getting off work, and I'll be at church from 7-8 and probably ready for bed when I get home but I'm sure I'll check out at least the opening quarter.:faint
