Okay I read this verse this morning, Ezek 18:24 But if a righteous man turns form his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does , will he live?? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has commited he will die.

Is it because it is in the OT and before Christ???

We all die a "physical" death because of our sin nature, but when Jesus died on the cross we entered the age of grace, where we are promised eternal life by no merits of our own,or regardless of our sins, because Jesus bore them on the cross in our place when we accept his salvation.

I certainly agree with truthseeker's reply, but also note that for those who have truly become new creatures in Christ through belief in, and acceptance of, Christ as our Lord and Saviour, while we may sin, we will have a strong urge to immediately repent for that sin (it is against our nature, although we still sin because we are human). Therefore, read the verses which follow Ezek 1 8:24:

18:26
If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin, he will die for it; because of the sin he has committed he will die.
18:27
But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life.
18:28
Because he considers all the offenses he has committed and turns away from them, he will surely live; he will not die.

Those who are saved (and yes, Christ has died for our sins and that is the actual cause of our salvation), will nevertheless repent and thus their salvation is also consistent with these Old Testatment verses.
