Daniels Fast

Well today my wife and I started our Daniels 21 day fast. We did this last year and were so blessed by the Lord and I know this year we will be blessed even more! We will do 3 days of just water and juice then 18 days of the Daniels fast.
Please pray for our strength and for us to get even closer to God during this time.

I'm not doing it, but I believe the Daniel fast is simply eating healthy, fruits, veggies, whole grains etc.

No junk food.

Thank you, the Daniels fast is basically a vegetarian diet. Below is a guideline of what the diet is;

(Foods We May Eat)

Whole Grains: Brown Rice, Oats, Barley

Legumes: Dried Beans, Pinto Beans, Split Peas, Lentils, Black Eyed Peas

Fruits: Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, Boysenberries, Cantelope, Cherries, Cranberries, Oats, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Guava, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi, Lemons, Limes, Mangoes, Nectarines, Papayas, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Plums, Prunes, Raisins, Rasberries, Strawberries, Tangeloes, Tangerines, Watermelon

Vegetables: Artichokes, Asparagus, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Chili Peppers, Corn, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Garlic, Gingerroot, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard Greens, Okra, Onions, Parsley, Potatoes, Radishes, Rutabagas, Scallions, Spinach, Sprouts, Squashes, Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes, Turnips, Watercress, Yams, Zucchini

Actually the reason we started this came from listening to Jentezen Franklin. He and his church do this ever January. We are following what Daniel did, but he did it for 10 days. We generally follow what Daniel did in Daniel 1:8-15.
My wife and I are doing it for financial favor, health, salvation for our family members and direction in our lives. Last year when we did this we felt so close to God, it is amazing when the hunger tempts you and you start praying for strength and you can just feel God with you, bringing you through it, getting closer to Him.

Per the rules, no promoting of WOF pastors or their teachings. Jentezen Franklin is a big time WoFer and this "Daniel's Diet" thing seems very close to contemplative prayer or part of spiritual disciplines, etc. that we really do not want this to be encouraged on the board. We would prefer to move on this issue with caution rather than leaving the thread open. God bless. :)
