Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

WELL, Looks like I might have to call the geek squad. I tried running safe mode and my computer makes this noise, like, IM NOT DOING THAT!
While I am at this point, I am wondering if anyone does any online date back up? Do you know of a company that is cheap to do that??

Are you getting any kind of error messages at all?
You mentioned DOS. What exactly are you seeing?

Mail me the hard drive
I'll fix it and mail it back
If the hard drive is failing I can probably copy your data for you

all I get is a cursor after the dell logo comes on. I have tried safe mode.
I got to take it in. I can't risk sippin it buzz, but thank you so much for offering.
I have not done a backup in awhile.
Bummer!!!!
What is your take on backup via websites? You think that is better than an external hard drive?
thanks

This might not help but there was a guy at work who had a laptop that wouldn't boot up. He had left a disk in the computer and the computer was trying to boot up from that disk instead of the hard drive since it scans the disk first before the hard drive.

I've done that. Felt really stupid once I figured out the problem. :ohno:ohno

Well. I learned something today. Don't EVER put a desktop computer in a cabnit. My power suppluy is gone, which is no big deal as I just put it in a year ago and its under warrenty. However, I am unsure if my motherboard is fried. AND, I didn't have everything backed up so I have to buy an external drive.
Needless to say, its most likely going to be expensive. I am looking at getting another MAC. Forget PC's man!
This dell from hell is about 4-5 years old and I have it maxed out.

You should get Goback Thats really good. You can go back in time like nothing ever happened.

Well I paid 324 bucks for a part that was under warrenty.
Lesson learned, ALWAYAS do a back up.
I purchased an external hard drive, but they charged 159 bucks to "back up" the data.
I am SURE that it took SO long. :rolleyes
