I will give you what I believe. I cannot prove it, but it is what makes the most sense tom me. I don't buy the angels and ufo theory because it is just to bizarre. First of all, angels and humans are 2 different creatures and cannot reproduce. Second of all, Jesus tells us in the gospels, that angels do not marry and most likely don't even reproduce amonst themselves. Most convincingly though, is if angels were reproducing with human females then why would God be mad at mankind.

1Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
4There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Angels are powerful creatures. If they could and wanted to have sex with women, what could we do to stop them. God wouldn't be upset with us.
So, if the giants didn't come from fallen angels then where did they come from.

I believe that the mark of Cain was that God turned him into a giant. The mark had to be something that would keep people from killing him and if you are twice as big as every one else this would definitely be a deterent.

So the Sons of God would not be fallen angels but simply men from the Godly lineage of Seth marrying the daughters of men or daughters of the ungodly lineage of Cain. What God was upset with was this:

2that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

Godly men were begininng to sin by exercising their will over God's will and being unequally yoked and polluted by ungodly people. Sin spread and ran rampant and because of the spreading of Cain's DNA there were more giants all over the place.

Once again, I cannot prove this but it makes the most sense to me.

:agree

We don't make doctrine on what the Bible DOESN'T say. And God would not allow creatures to be made that could not be saved. These hybrids would have had a fallen nature like satan, not like Adam. Christ didn't die fro the angels, or Satan would have been given a chance at redemption.

His Child, Nice post. I think you're right on with your interpretation of scripture.

I have a question for those of you who have studied this (or want to :))...

Can Satan fill our minds or our hearts with lies? If yes to either (or both), how does he do that?

Scripture is ALWAYS welcomed and encouraged!

Thank you for any help with this. :)

Just throw this over in Bible Study if it should be there instead. Thanks!

I don't have any scripture to back this up off the top of my head, but the way I understand it is that once we are saved, Satan can no longer directly affect us since we're covered by Christ's blood.

However, God can allow Satan to throw things into our paths (indirectly affecting us) to test us and to strengthen us. In effect, Satan is nothing more than a tool that God can use to work his work of perfecting us.

Also, remember that each and every person still has that sinful fleshly nature that we are born with even up until the point that we die. That is what condemns us. So, a lot of times, it's not even Satan. It's ourselves that are filling our own heads up with lies so that we can convince ourselves it's ok to be disobient to God in order to fulfill our fleshly lusts.

Satan has no direct power over us. Jesus took care of that.

To directly answer your question:

Can Satan fill our minds or our hearts with lies? If yes to either (or both), how does he do that?

I would say NO to both; however, we can fill our heads and hearts with lies that are the result of Satan's deceptions.

For sure if you are really saved and positionally are seeking to stand on the ground of freedom that the Lord has purchased you will face many attacks and thought bombs from Satan.

Satan will seek to push you off the ground of freedom and limit your ambassadorship for the Lord and regain or maintain a stronghold of wrong thinking and sin in your life.

I don't have the scriptures at my fingertips but "resist the devil and he will flee from you", "shield of faith to stop the fiery darts (thought bombs) of the evil one".

(Eph 6:11) Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

(Eph 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

(Eph 6:13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

(Eph 6:14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

(Eph 6:15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

(Eph 6:16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

(Eph 6:17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

(Eph 6:18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

vs. 14 the breastplate of righteousness will protect your internal organs, heart, and such. Jesus is our righteousness, but we need to constantly reread the Word to keep fresh.

(2Co 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

vs. 17 the helmet of salvation protects the mind.

(Eph 4:23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Paul was telling the Ephesians they had to put on the whole armor. I hope this is helpful. I am sure there is alot more on guarding the heart and mind from the enemy. :)

As far as to how the enemy can fill our minds and hearts, just watch the television and and listen to the worlds music. I am not trying to sound self-righteous, it is my convictions, that's all. Everyone is at different stages of their walk. :unsure

This is awesome guys! Thanks for the scripture!

I'd like to be even more specific...

Can one biblically support that Satan can literally read our minds OR literally speak lies into our minds?

Thanks again! :)

I have been told that Satan cannot read our minds but he does put thoughts in our heads.
He has known mankind a very long time and he also has known us personally since we were born, so he knows how to push our buttons. I wish I knew the Bible Verses to this though.
