My wife just found out she is pregnant two nights ago, and this is truly a miracle, as I just had a vasectomy reversal at the end of August, and my wife and I prayed that if it was the Lord's will, the surgery would be successful. The success rate is about 60% after the surgery, but the average time to pregnancy is about a year if successful. I got the original vasectomy during my first marriage, and my second wife and I wanted to have a child together so badly. My wife's six-year-old daughter was conceived during a rape, and I so wanted my wife to be able to have a happy pregnancy and share the joy with our families.
I have to give a shout-out (and hearty endorsement) to my vas reversal doctor, Dr. Cary Leverett in New Braunfels, TX. My wife and I traveled from Chicago to see him. He is a wonderful Christian man who performs the surgery for a lower cost than normal as a ministry to families who want to have more children, and I felt so comfortable in his care. He prayed over us before starting the surgery, he allowed my wife to sit beside me the whole time, and his operating room even had a painting of Christ guiding the hands of a surgeon!
The baby is due in September, and my three other daughters are very excited to have a new brother or sister!
Please pray my wife's pregnancy progresses well, as she is only at four weeks, but we are telling everyone!
