Interesting article. Of course, AIDS is a disease that has moral implications, where sanitation doesn't. AIDS must be fought...not because it is a terrible disease (which it is) but because it might put a damper on the "if it feels good then do it" crowd.

I found it interesting that the WHO person expressed hope that funding wouldn't drop for fighting AIDS (because if it did...where would his job go) but only expressed a mild surprise at the basic living conditions these people exist in.
