Anyone want to help with some questions?

Rev. 2:11 he who OVERCOMES will not be hurt by the second death

Rev. 2:16 repent or else I am coming to you quickly and I will make war against them with the sword of My mouth

Rev. 3:5 he who OVERCOMES will thus be clothed in white garments and I will not erase his name from the book of life and I will confess his name before My father and before His angles

Do the above verses mean that if a believer in Jesus Christ as their Savior dies while he is having an affair, he will be hurt by the second death and will have his name erased since he did not “overcome” to the end of his life and since he had not repented of that particular sin?

Rev. 3:2 I have not found your deeds COMPLETED in the sight of My God

How should I complete my deeds in the sight of My God?

Mat. 6:14 IF you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you

Mat. 6:15 IF you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions

Mat. 7:1 do not judge SO THAT you will not be judged

Mat. 18:35 My heavenly Father will also do the same to you IF each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart

If a man dies while he has an unforgiving heart or a judging heart toward another, will he not be forgiven?

Mat. 25:14 called HIS OWN slaves…throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness

If I do not use the talent(s) the Lord gave me, will I be thrown into outer darkness?

Salvation is by the grace of God through faith.

1Jo 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
1Jo 5:5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Everybody sing!

Faith is the victory
Faith is the victory
Oh glorious victory
That overcomes the world.

These selected verses are aimed at "proving" that a person "must earn salvation" by doing something that NO person could do.
Only the Holy Spirit working in a sealed (eternally saved) person could make such forgiveness possible. That forgiving will never be complete or perfect either while we are on this earth.
Unsaved people who say that they could forgive others from their heart are just fooling themselves.
There are many verses in the bible that could be used to disprove the false assumption that we could ever "earn" God's forgiveness.
The true aim of these verses are to point out our desperate need for a Saviour, Who was the very person speaking those words.

A saved person, who dies with an "imperfect heart", will still be eternally saved because of God's Grace, which perfectly covers that "imperfect heart" before God.

Believers are the ONLY ones that overcome. Ones that are truly saved, truly His. Not the ones that said Lord, Lord and He says I never knew you.

We overcome through his Blood. His covering.

There are, to me, 3 dimensions to "being saved". The first is when you asked Jesus to forgive you and you repented of your sins. I believe the 2nd aspect is what you do daily. You are to live Godly, Holy, and pure now, today. see Titus, (I think) ch 3. In this present world. Paul and Jesus both said to daily take up your cross and to die daily. and so forth. The 3rd dimension is the fact we are not in the our final place at the end of this age.
Anyone that puts his hand to the plow looking back is NOT fit for the kingdom of heaven. This means what it says. There with be NO adulterers and the like that are in the spotless bride of Christ. There are many works that God wants us to do. Psalm 119 is a Psalm of action- start doing the Word. It is the only way to insure you will not be ashamed when Christ returns.

Sure, there you go.

Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise.
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled.
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.

Refrain

Faith is the victory! Faith is the victory!
O glorious victory, that overcomes the world.

His banner over us is love,
Our sword the Word of God.
We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er every field.
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.

Refrain

On every hand the foe we find
Drawn up in dread array.
Let tents of ease be left behind,
And onward to the fray.
Salvation’s helmet on each head,
With truth all girt about,
The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,
And echo with our shout.

Refrain

To him that overcomes the foe,
White raiment shall be giv’n.
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in Heav’n.
Then onward from the hill of light,
Our hearts with love aflame,
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conqu’ring Name.

Refrain

Oh, did you mean the other verses in the OP?:)

Anyone want to help with some questions?

Rev. 3:2 I have not found your deeds COMPLETED in the sight of My God

How should I complete my deeds in the sight of My God?

Deeds that are an expression of faith through love are complete deeds. We love God. We love the Brethren. And this love expresses itself in deeds of faith, obedience and service.

An incomplete deed is one in which God has no part. Some churches build great buildings or send out charitable missions but never trust God to heal lives and raise the dead. The church at Sardis was dead. They needed to seek God and he would have brought renewal.

Our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. Forgiveness of others now becomes a matter of obedience but has no bearing on our own salvation.

Mat. 25:14 called HIS OWN slaves…throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness

If I do not use the talent(s) the Lord gave me, will I be thrown into outer darkness?

This parable is about a man who had no faith. He believed that God reaps where he does not sew. He believed that God requires things of us that we have no means of producing. Actually we know that one plants another waters, but it is God alone who gives the increase.

If he had even a little faith, God would have rewarded him greatly. Notice that the other two men got equal rewards even though one gained 5 talents and the other 2. This man had no faith and so was denied the grace of God.

You may want to read the doctrinal statement of RR again.

We do not believe in a works based, performance based faith here. WE do not make ourselves Spotless. That is totally done by the Holy Spirit when we are washed white as snow in our transformation of faith.
