I think the Patriots remain perfect and win by 2 touchdowns. Reason being that whenever Belichick's team plays an opponent for the first time it's usually (Note: I said usually not always) close, the second contest is usually a rout because he's seen all of their schemes, so the Patriots end up dominating.

So I say:

NE: 30
NYG 16

What say you?

I'm sure that others have made this observation though I haven't heard it yet.

2007 (season) Super Bowl is eerily similar to the 2001 Super Bowl. Recall that in 2001 the St Louis Rams were "The greatest show on turf." They had dominated the regular season (scored over 500 point) and playoffs. They just barely beat the Patriots in the regular season. The New England Patriots were a wild card team on a long winning streak. At every round of the playoffs they were 'supposed' to lose. They did not. They went up against the Rams as 14 point under-dogs. The rest is history.

So this year the Patriots had a spectacular season, dominated the regular season (scored well over 500 points) and playoffs. They just barely beat the Giants in the regular season. The New York Giants finished the regular season as the wild card. They are on a prolonged away game win streak. They were supposed to lose to every playoff opponent they faced. They did not. They are 14 point under-dogs in the Super Bowl.

The only difference between then and now is this: The Rams celebrated their Super Bowl 'victory' before the game even began. Ricky Prohl, "Tonight the dynasty is born, baby!" I have yet to hear of a Patriots player talking similar trash...yet.

I think the Patriots will win and I certainly hope this comes true. Beyond that, no predictions.

You are so right. And I remember telling my friends that the Rams were in for a rude awakening. I knew Belichick would find some way to reel in that Rams offense.

Part of me want the underdogs to win and a part of me want to see Brady and Pats win. But I think it will be another 35-33 game. To hard to predict who has 35 now. Will predict on Feb 2.

My Giants need to go into this game remembering from the last time they met. It's easier to play as an underdog as the giants have most of the season.

But that being said, the NFC East is the toughest division in the WHOLE league.

The giants have always been a traditional smash-mouth football team and that's why I am such a fan.

The giants did not have anything to gain by the last game. but this being the "big show" the giants aren't going to hold back. they will bring everything they have. Strahan is so close as well at the others to tasting that SB title that, it's like a dog who tastes blood so to speak.

they have an awesome offense, but their Defense is old and that may be a problem with the giants young offense. they may have good pass coverage, but they proved that they are weak against the run. with Eli mixing things up maybe we can find out who's defense will get tired out first.

Defense is what wins SB's. I can;t say who'll win, it could go either way. but it will be a 7 point or less difference at the end

I give Tom Coughlin and this Giants team a lot of credit for what they've accomplished thus far. To win all of these road games against tough opponents and in tough weather is really quite an accomplishment.

I really want the Giants to win because I'm a disgruntled Jets fan who hates the fact that Bill Belichick left the Jets in the lurch when Bill Parcells stepped down as Jets coach and named Belichick his successor. You may remember Belichick lasted one or two days as Jets coach and then quit.

That being said I am still a big boy and I can't let my bias against Belichick cloud my thinking. This Patriots team seems to be on a mission this year. They have got to be least respected dynasty type team in history. I think they're going to win, but I hope I'm wrong. :)

The last two weeks New England has been -13.5 and didn't cover.

The current line for the Super Bowl is New England -12.5, O/U 53.5

I think it will go over.
