Thread should get moved I assume.....
Anyone have any problem with Melissa Scott, the wife of the late Dr. Gene Scott? Her teaching style is incredibly intensive from a Biblical language/translation standpoint. Just curious if anyone has any red flags.

How about the fact that she is teaching men? I would shy away from that one.

Ditto! Another book, reasonably priced, A Twist of Faith, How feminist spirituality is changing the church and betraying the women it promised to heal, Berit Kjos. Available at (www.crossroad.to/)

Dr. Gene Scott used to be on the air around here 24/7 on his own television station and his own FM radio station. Dr. Gene Scott taught the same cult nonsense that Herbert W. Armstrong taught. Dr. Gene Scott taught a 33 1/3% obligatory tithing system. He taught and promoted Anglo Israelism. He taught that God's plan for mankind was concealed within the great pyramid at Giza. He objected to the book of James being in the Bible and often taught from apocryphal books arguing that they were just as valid as anything in scripture. Dr. Gene Scott also taught that homosexuality was a valid lifestyle. His personal life was also an embarassment to Christianity. In fact his widow, Melissa, is one of the adult models Dr. Gene Scott hired to accompany and entertain him. So yes, all that is a giant red flag as I don't imagine his wife teaches anything different than her husband did. I'd recommend staying as far away from the Scott's as one can get.

Never watched him. With 33 and one third per cent tithe he could've bought his own country, if he had enough folowers. Definately to be avoided:ohno, if this was his teaching:doh!!

When I was a kid, I seem to recall Gene Scott sitting there on tv with a big fat stogie hanging out of his mouth while he was preaching...
the more you dig deeper, there is some poignant sketchiness, to be sure......that's why we must be on guard and test EVERYTHING....

What got me is at the end, they asked if he cried and he said that he cried because of misunderstanding. I would think that he if really cared about evangelism that he would cry for the lost and those dying without Jesus
