Help I recived some very great information on the Book of Enoch. A web site John Pratt has. I have read up to Chap. 60 and still have a ways to go. I was very very touch when I read, what I read. My only question is why is it not in the Bible? I feel like this is real and helps with understanding the Bible and other questions that I have had for years. This writing is very strong with prophecy. I just wonder why it is not in the Bible is it because of how long ago it was written and who wrote it? The words truly moved me. Thanks for any information :pray:wave

In short, because

a) there are some widely varying opinions as to its veracity, and
b) because it was not ever referred to as Scripture in the Bible.

Enoch's name is on the book but that does not mean the Enoch of scripture wrote it.

^I also thought an "Enoch" was the Biblical term of a non-sexual person. Is that correct?

I don't really know, because I have never read it, but is this reference in it?

Jud 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

^That's really scary. Thank goodness for His forgiveness to those who repent, come to Him, and call upon His holy Name for salvation. Those verses kind of match the very end of Isaiah, which I recently read awhile ago:

Isaiah 66:22-24

As the new heavens and the new earth which I will make Shall endure before me, says the LORD, so shall your race and your name endure.
23
From one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, All mankind shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.
24
4 They shall go out and see the corpses of the men who rebelled against me; Their worm shall not die, nor their fire be extinguished; and they shall be abhorrent to all mankind.

The verse in Jude's epistle could merely indicate that he was familier with the tradition behind the supposed "Book of Enoch," somewhat like how a "Book of Jasher" is mentioned in the Old Testament. Neither texts are included in the canon of Judaism (Genesis through 2 Chonicles), so they weren't adopted by the Church, either. But apparently, they have some history in Jewish tradition. The Book of Enoch has serious inconsistencies with accepted scripture though, that's why it's not included. If it's God-breathed, there should be no inconsistancies. God doesn't lie, and that's the truth!
