WASHINGTON — The $146 billion stimulus package intended to jolt the economy by giving taxpayers rebates up to $1,200 includes cash returns for illegal immigrants who pay taxes.

Under the plan passed by the House, illegal immigrants who qualify as "resident aliens" and earned a minimum of $3,000 would be eligible for rebates of between $300-$600, FOX News has learned.

Watch a lot of this go to Mexico probably.

Why should "illegals" get it, and not seniors? That's just WRONG.:thinking

I am not well read about immigration but from the news I've heard and read about, apparently United States Citizens are fighting to protect themselves and their ranches from thefts and attacks from Mexicans crossing the border into USA. I also have read that there are many Americans are not only helping Mexicans to get across the border but aiding them, providing shelter, food and jobs for them. The most frightening part of all this is is that our Gov is doing nothing much about this issue. No protection for USA and that's kind of frightening.

Just heard the senate has blocked it. Doesn't want them included in the package.

Ok now I heard it's back in. Here's what some people are saying:

"Oh, it's even better than that (sarcasm ) - According to the interview just replayed on CSpan(s), Sen Grassley said:

"Under this plan 20 million low-income seniors will not get any help at all" [probably because they are fixed-income dependent folks]

And, as an FYI, consider this:

7.2 millions IA workers in US (I know, I know.... ) * $300 (per worker, does not include larger rebate for married worker, children dependents...etc)
= $2.16 billion

Or, in other words, we are borrowing 2.1 billion dollars, from the Chinese to give people that aren't supposed to be here - much less working - and many of those functionally won't earn enough from their illegal employment to even be able to pay into the income tax coffers.... to give them a 'refund'....

We lose in borrowing the money, we lose in subsidizing workers that are probably not even needed to be here, we lose in allowing people to manipulate the tax system, we lose, we lose, we lose....

What are they thinkin'....?

Yeah saw them warning about this on Fox and friends. I hope there is a way to catch the people who are trying to do this.

let see the people who mostly get more back from the IRS than they paid in are receiving even more hand-outs (all those tax credits for children and excetera) (work with a guy who made 17K paid 900 in taxes and got back 6K from all the tax credits), but yet the people who could use tax relief will have to pay more to make up for the debt now being incured by this new hand out. the middle class is doomed
